Commit Your Code is taking place in Dallas Sep 3&4. You can attend virtually for free or you can donate to them which goes to a charity. I will blog some of my takeaways.

Never Click Apply Get Hired

Leon Noel

Leon's talk was about networking and building relationships to help you get known and get interviews. He said only 2% people that use easy apply actually get interviews.
Instead you should be talking to people, commenting on their posts and chatting now and not just when you are on the job hunt. Talk had a lot of resources which he's gonna send out.

Ship It First, Fix It Later

Roxy Rodriguez-Becker

Roxy made a tool to help track her son's medically required diet. She made an app for her family to use. Then deployed it and got a lot of users that gave feedback and helped her improve the app.

She encourages you to build your project and then put it out there for people to use and help you make it better.

These talk will eventually be released on the Dallas Software Developer's YouTube page.

Tip from Commit Your Code

Danny Thompson just delivered the Commit your Code Keynote.

His biggest AI advice was to make the AI read and reread your files before you prompt it. Tell it to ingest the files by reading them. Then say if when change X how will it affect the files. So it has to read the file again to think.

Then you tell it to make any changes. S0 it better understands what you want.
