I Built an Online Expense Tracker Because Most Budget Apps Were Too Complicated

As a mobile developer, I've tried many expense tracking apps over the years. While many offer powerful features, I found that most were either too complex, cluttered, or time-consuming for everyday use.

I wanted something different.

I wanted an expense tracker that was simple, fast, and available across devices through secure cloud synchronization.

That's why I built Kharcho.

The Problem

Many people don't know where their money goes each month.

Small daily expenses—coffee, groceries, subscriptions, fuel, or online shopping—add up quickly. Without tracking them, it's difficult to build a budget or save consistently.

The biggest challenge isn't budgeting itself.

It's making expense tracking easy enough that people actually do it every day.

Building Kharcho

My goal was to create an app that anyone could use within minutes.

Kharcho lets users:

💰 Track income and expenses
📂 Organize transactions with categories
☁️ Sync data securely online
📊 View spending history and insights
📅 Monitor daily, monthly, and yearly expenses
📱 Access their financial records whenever they need them
Design Principles

While developing Kharcho, I focused on four core ideas:

Simple UI – No unnecessary complexity.
Fast experience – Add transactions in just a few taps.
Cloud sync – Keep data available across devices.
Reliable performance – A smooth experience even with thousands of transactions.
What I Learned

Building an expense tracker taught me that good financial habits are more important than complicated financial tools.

An app can't make someone save money, but it can make tracking expenses so easy that saving becomes a natural habit.

Try Kharcho

If you're looking for a clean and easy-to-use online expense tracker, I'd love your feedback.

📱 Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kharcho

Every suggestion helps make Kharcho better for everyone.
