We’re Hiring: Founding AI/ML Engineer at KnowYi Technologies

KnowYi Technologies is hiring a Founding AI/ML Engineer to help build the intelligence layer for hardware execution.

KnowYi is building the execution layer that helps hardware teams turn engineering intent into delivered industrial products.

Hardware execution rarely breaks because a team cannot find a supplier. It breaks because production intent is scattered across drawings, BOMs, CAD files, customer notes, revision history, supplier questions, inspection evidence, and delivery updates.

We are building software that turns this fragmented information into structured execution: what is missing, what needs to happen next, what suppliers need to know, what happened during the build, and what should be remembered for the next revision.

We are looking for a Founding AI/ML Engineer to build the AI infrastructure behind this system and work directly with the founder on real customer and production workflows.

What you’ll work on
AI systems for parsing drawings, BOMs, CAD metadata, customer notes, inspection files, and production records
LLM and RAG workflows for hardware build intake, missing-input detection, supplier-ready package generation, and project memory
Data pipelines that learn from real build history, including materials, processes, tolerances, supplier questions, QC issues, lead times, and delivery outcomes
Agentic workflows across intake, clarification, routing, production status, inspection evidence, and customer-facing updates
Backend and product infrastructure that turns real hardware execution workflows into scalable software

This is not a role focused on building another generic AI wrapper or SaaS workflow.

You will be building AI systems inside a real hardware execution business, where software decisions connect directly to physical production outcomes.

Who this role is for

We are looking for someone who wants significant technical ownership, enjoys working with messy real-world data, and is excited by the intersection of AI, manufacturing, robotics, hardware, and production systems.

Experience with technologies such as Python, LLMs, RAG, agents, data engineering, backend systems, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, or Next.js is relevant, but we care most about your ability to reason through difficult systems and build quickly.

Compensation & location

Base salary: $90,000-$120,000 USD/Year
Equity: 0.25%-1.0%, depending on experience and ownership level
Location: Remote, Waterloo, or San Francisco

This is a high-ownership founding engineering role for someone who wants to help define how AI infrastructure can operate inside real-world hardware production.

About KnowYi

KnowYi Technologies helps hardware teams move from incomplete engineering inputs to real production units.

The execution layer from engineering intent to real production.
