Hey devs,

I’m working on a small project to help people upload and categorize PDFs, spreadsheets, images, etc. online — and then sync that repository to a Raspberry Pi for offline browsing.

The goal is to create a free online document management solution that:

Lets users upload & organize files easily

Supports public or restricted uploads

Can export/sync for offline use (like to a Pi SD card)

I initially tried using WordPress with plugins but quickly hit limitations and complexity.

Has anyone here built something similar? What stacks, libraries, or approaches did you use?

Right now I’m experimenting with CapyDocs
which focuses on online/offline document management. If anyone has tried it or has other suggestions, I’d love to hear your feedback.

Thanks!
