Hi everyone 👋
This is my first post here, so I’ll keep it simple and honest.
My name is Joy, I’m from India, and I’m currently studying Data Science. Along with that, I’m also learning Android app development using Kotlin.
To be very honest, learning hasn’t been easy for me.
I didn’t have a very strong background in everything that Data Science needs, especially math and statistics. Sometimes when I watch lectures or read material, I understand it… and then the next day I feel lost again. That part is frustrating.
On the Android side, I enjoy building things, but I still struggle with:
understanding app structure clearly
backend concepts and databases
connecting everything together without getting confused
Many times I feel like I’m learning too many things at once, but I also don’t want to give up any of them. I want to slowly connect data + apps + real-world use cases.
I joined Dev.to because I don’t want to pretend that I know everything.
I want to learn in public, share what I’m studying, what I get wrong, and how I fix it.
My long-term goal is simple (even if it’s big):
to build useful, data-driven applications, starting from India, and hopefully usable by people anywhere. I know this will take years, not months, and I’m okay with that.
If you’re also a beginner, struggling, confused, or learning step by step — you’re not alone.
Let’s learn together.
Thanks for reading 🙏
I’ll try to post updates as I continue learning.
