List Of 7 Top Web3 Companies You Should Know

Most people would say Web3 is still a theoretical concept, with a somewhat high learning curve to get up to speed. At the moment, anyone interested in becoming involved must first educate themselves on blockchain and understand what the top web3 companies and cryptocurrency technology are doing.

Some people are unwilling to go to the lengths to utilize a different version of something they already have, especially when they can use privacy-enhancing applications such as private browsers to get past privacy problems.

There are also the concerns of confidentiality and censorship to consider. Nothing would be anonymous if the whole internet operated on the Web3 blockchain network, and everything was irrevocably recorded in the blockchain as it was created and updated. That might be OK for some, but not for those who require anonymity to protect their safety.

In principle, it would be egalitarian if no one could be barred from using the internet. Still, in practice, the dissemination of damaging disinformation and hate speech would need to be curtailed in some way to keep it from spreading. Because the internet we now have has become so ineffective at addressing these concerns, it's challenging to evaluate whether Web3 would be safer or worse in this regard.

How can I gain access to Web3?

Web3 does not necessarily exist as a new browser in and of itself, and access to Web3-based websites can be accomplished by using the same browsers that are now in use. As a result, even if Web3 sites are being developed utilizing blockchain technology, they are typically accessible in the same way that Web2 websites are. And crypto enthusiasts are already using parts of Web3 when shopping with cryptocurrencies and acquiring NFTs, among other things.

Web3 will also be accessible through metaverse platforms, which are being developed by firms such as Facebook's parent company Meta. Consequently, Meta's metaverse platform Horizon will access a Web3 version of Facebook on the web.

1. Alchemy

Millions of users in 197 countries worldwide benefit from Alchemy's premier blockchain development platform, which Alchemy provides. The objective is to equip developers with the essential building blocks they require to shape the technological landscape of the future.

2. AlphaWallet

AlphaWallet was formed by a group of blockchain enthusiasts and business experts who think that blockchain technology will significantly influence the future and will fundamentally alter the landscape of technology as a whole. They are working hard to make this vision a reality by creating an easy-to-use platform that makes the technology available to everyone who wants it.

You can have access to the unique Ethereum tokens available, make money with Defi, participate in a DAO, spend your tokens for more things, pay with a stable coin, and access the entire web3 world with an integrated app browser.

3. The Dapp List

Powered by community governance, the web3 application exploration platform provides a trustworthy source for novices while rewarding those who make significant contributions to the community. They are committed to assisting developers in advancing the future of decentralization by providing a platform for them to share their ideas, create networks, and form a sense of community within the web3 Ecosystem.

4. QuikNode

Web3 developer platform for developing, testing, and deploying blockchain applications over the internet. Access to Ethereum, Bitcoin, BSC, Polygon, and xDai nodes in milliseconds or less: elastic APIs, sophisticated tools, and statistics are all at your fingertips through a straightforward control interface. Do you want to create the next prominent dApp? Build it on the QuikNode platform.

5. GuildFi

As part of its mission to build an integrated ecosystem of games, NFTs, and communities, GuildFi seeks to maximize players' advantages while also enabling interoperability throughout the metaverse. Player discovery and access issues are resolved, and their performance is improved, allowing them to reap the most possible advantages.

In the long term, players' participation and achievement are no longer discarded or restricted to certain guilds or games but instead contribute to their advancement and profit from higher levels.

6. Decentology

Decentology is the forward-thinking startup behind Hyperverse, the open, composable intelligent contracts platform that makes it simple for developers to find, build, and monetize web3 apps. Decentology is headquartered in San Francisco, California. Descended from DappStarter, Decentology's blockchain-agnostic code generation platform for web2 developers, Hyperverse is the next iteration of the system.

7. Cyber Manufacture Co.

GAMA, the next generation NFT project, is powered by the narrative-based Web3 platform developed by Cyber Manufacture Co. Located at the crossroads of narrative, gaming, community ownership, and digital identity management, GAMA is a unique and compelling experience.

The article was originally published on techibytes and you can find it here

Tips on how to retain top talent

One of the major problems in an organization is getting the right person for a job well and knowing how to retain top talent. The world of tech is a competitive one and top talents in the industry are always on the lookout for mouth-watering opportunities as well as a work-friendly environment.

Coupled with the ongoing global pandemic, tech talent has taken a different approach by switching over to being independent and choosing a remote workplace.

Tips on how to retain top talent

Train Talents:

Organisations must make it a point of duty to always train talents in the industry. Providing proper training for staff irrespective of their level increases efficiency. At that, talents are able to function better as they subconsciously believe that they are obligated to give their best to the organization.

Giving enough training to employees most especially tech talents, keep them abreast of recent developments in the industry. skills and knowledge acquired in the course of the training most times lead to innovation and development in an organisation.

Attractive incentive:

Little kind gesture from an employer to an employee could make a whole lot of difference in an employee's attitude towards work. Retaining talent in an organisation, incentives and welfare packages are important, as it serves as motivation for employees.
Incentives might not necessarily be money, it could be a simple ticket to watch a trending movie, discount on products, granting sabbatical leave, free breakfast/lunch and lots more.

Build relationships
:
Research has shown that hostile environment reduces functionality. Hostility most especially from employers have negative effects on employees. Examples of such hostility include; impolite words, cursing, nagging, constant criticism and many others. All this could have bad effects on the employee which could reduce the productivity of the employee.

To retain talents in an organization, employers are advised to build a cordial relationship with their employee by talking to them, encouraging them, commending them when necessary and paying attention to their needs and complains.

Employers should as well take notes of little details about their employees such as their names, and other important aspects about them. Cordial relationship would help instil a team spirit and make them feel more at home.

Encourage personal development:

Personal development should be encouraged by employee as it helps build the employees capabilities and potential. As an employer, you could encourage your employees to take classes or courses that could help him or her get better in a particular aspect or field of work.

Migrating your Wordpress Blog to Frontity

Frontity is an Open Source Front-end Framework to build super-fast headless Wordpress sites using React, which serves its data through the Wordpress REST API.

What will you learn in this article
I will explain a few things about REST API, What a headless wordpress site means, Frontity, and how to get started with it.

What do you need to know for this Course?

You need to know about Wordpress and be familiar with it.

You will need to have understood some basics of React to help you sync the information here.

Programming Knowledge/little coding experience

Nodejs installed on your machine. If you don't have it, you can check it here to get started

Open mind to learn

  What is the REST API

The acronym REST API stands for Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interface. So, we will take it one after the other in other to make you understand the terminologies much better.

REST is a set of rules (constraints ) or basically an architectural style to which is used in building web services. When a web service meets the demands of REST is considered a RESTful web service.

you can read about REST here

API is a computer interface that allows communication and interactions between two machines or software applications. APIs are more like a messenger that delivers a request to a specific provider and in return brings back the responses from the provider back to where the initial request was made.

### Headless Wordpress Site, what is that?
This is simply the approach that uses the Wordpress database and backend but not the frontend user interface.

So, the headless there means that the site does not make use of the Wordpress end-user interface. The site frontend can be built with any frontend technology then use Wordpress as Backend.

  Why do you need Frontity

Frontity can not be overemphasized on what you can achieve using it without knowing much about Bundling, Transpiling, Routing, Server rendering, State Management, CSS management, and so on.

Frontity helps you build wordpress sites using React without having to do a lot of configuration to get started as a developer.

Many Wordpress Developers before now have to go through the pain of configuration REST API in order to use React, now Frontity came in to bridge that gap and offer a seamless connection between Wordpress Developers trying to use React and React developers trying to use Wordpress so everybody wins. Frontity is purely focused on Wordpress.

Frontity has themes you can actually jump into or you can create yours by yourself if you know how to write React codes. It will also amaze Frontity has its own Frontity's Twenty Nineteen Theme and Twenty-Twenty theme which is very similar to the Wordpress 2019/2020 themes respectively.

  Let's get right into Migrating our blog to Frontity

So, I this tutorial I won't be going into details about how to create a Frontity theme rather we will be using one of the Frontity created theme called Chakra

Note: you can use any of the frontity theme of your choice by simply going to *npm * website and search using the

frontity-theme

tag

Go to your command line, locate your preferred directory, and type

npx frontity create your-app-name

You will be asked to choose a starter theme (on the Cli frontity only provide 2 options), It is recommended that you use the
mars-theme
as you are starting frontity for the first time.

npx: installed
? Pick a starter theme to clone:
@frontity/mars-theme (recommended)
@frontity/twentytwenty-theme

After the project is completely created, you will have to run this code below on you Command line

cd frontity-tutorial && npx frontity dev

your site will be displayed at the http://localhost:3000

  Alternatively

If you have used frontity before and just want to go straight using the Chakra theme, you will have to clone the repository on Github then run

git clone https://github.com/chakra-ui/frontity-chakra-ui-theme
cd frontity-chakra-ui-theme
npm install && npx frontity dev

If you are attempting Frontity for the first time I would suggest you follow the first step and skip the alternative method, in other to understand how it all works.

So after your project is fully completed, you will see the whole files like in the image below in your text editor

We can now go straight to using our
chakra-theme
to make our blog look greater with a nice feel.

Awesome!! Your new blog is running on the Frontity Chakra theme, looking gorgeous and amazing.

Now the Frontity allows you to further redesign your site to your personal look and feel by going to the codebase and redesign your site, but we won't go much into that.

Let's add a Contact form to our blog and see how it works.
We will be making use of the Frontity Contact Form 7, you won't need much configuration because frontity already handles that behind the scene.

Let's get started by first, going to our Wordpress Dashboard which serves as our backend, and install the Contact form 7 in order to get the shortcode there and then use it for our frontity contact form 7.

Go to your wordpress Dashboard and install the *Contact Form 7 * plugin and activate it.

The Contact creates a tab called Contact on your Wordpress Dashboard

Go to the Contact and copy the shortcode there

Create a Contact Page and paste the code you've copied there

After you are done with this, let us move over to our terminal and install the frontity Contact Form 7 plugin so the form can actually work on our Frontity site.

Quickly go to your terminal and type
npm install frontity-contact-form-7
which you can as well check out here

Setting this up requires zero configuration which frontity has already helped us get rid of.

Locate your frontity-settings.js again and add your package name which is
frontity-contact-form-7
there

"packages": [
      "frontity-contact-form-7"
]

Another thing you should do is to add your contact menu on the frontity-settings.js

const settings = {
  name: "chakra-react",
  state: {
    frontity: {
      url: "https://test.frontity.io",
      title: "Test Frontity Blog",
      description: "WordPress installation for Frontity development"
    }
  },
  packages: [
    {
      name: "frontity-chakra-theme",
      state: {
        theme: {
          menu: [
            ["Home", "/"],
            ["Nature", "/category/nature/"],
            ["Travel", "/category/travel/"],
            ["Japan", "/tag/japan/"],
            ["About Us", "/about-us/"],
            ["Contact Us", "/contact-form-7/"]
          ],
          socialLinks: [
            ["pinterest", "https://www.pinterest.com/frontity/"],
            ["facebook", "https://www.instagram.com/frontity/"],
            ["twitter", "https://www.twitter.com/frontity/"]
          ],
          featured: {
            showOnArchive: true,
            showOnPost: true
          }
        }
      }
    },
    {
      name: "@frontity/wp-source",
      state: {
        source: {
          api: "https://test.frontity.io/wp-json"
        }
      }
    },
    "@frontity/tiny-router",
    "@frontity/html2react",
    "@frontity-contact-form-7"
  ]
};

export default settings;

These easy steps create your frontity contact page, and you can as well further style your Contact page to look better to match your theme and looks.

Having issues with this, comment below

Note: This post was first written on iamjude.xyz

As a Frontend Developer, I have been writing a whole lot of CSS to give my Frontend application that super look because there is no Frontend Web Application without CSS. So, today i will be talking about one of the coolest ways of Styling with "SCSS"

Before we proceed in much details i would like to draw your attention to what SCSS is and how we can further use it while building our applications.

Note: This article is not fully for people that want to try SCSS with frontend frameworks and libraries like Reactjs, Vuejs and the rest, but will give you the basic knowledge on what SCSS is, how it works which will further help you if you want to use it on React or Gatsby

  UnderStanding SCSS

It won't be right if i don't explain what SCSS is ☺️, so let us do justice to that.

SCSS is the main syntax for Syntactically Awesome Style Sheet (SASS) which builds on top of the CSS existing syntax. Maybe I have said something too hard to understand, so let me explain better

SASS is a pre-processor scripting language that will be compiled and interpreted into CSS in order to be understood by the web. SASS is the super-set of CSS and SCSS is a syntax to write SASS which is more advanced than the normal CSS.

Why you will Love writing SCSS:

SCSS helps shorten your styling Codes

It contains all CSS features and even more

It allows nesting of codes which is super awesome

Allows you easily modify, edit your codes from one source by the use of variables.

With all these features and more i know you are already making up your mind to move to write SCSS in all your web applications.

I don't think this article will be what you wanted without adding some code samples to show you exactly what you can do with SCSS

Getting into SCSS Proper For Html applications
With Frontend FrameWorks like React, Gatsby, Vue and the rest, you can use SCSS by simply installing the plugin and maybe 1 or 2 settings to get it working for your app but in my illustration, I won't go into that rather i will show you how to do that on HTML applications without any frameworks.

Please🙏🏼: you have to pardon me because i will be using VsCode for my illustration.

On your VsCode editor, install Live Sass Compiler: this extension helps you to compile your sass or scss codes to CSS which the web (Browser) totally understands

you can create your style folder and create your style file with the extension of .scss

eg: main.scss

you can write your scss codes like this

.container{

     max-width: 1100px;

     width: 100%;

}

SCSS variable feature: you can declare a variable in scss which helps you to quickly modify your styles from just one place and it will take effect in the rest of the places. Here is how you will do that

$fontName: Helvetica, sans-serif;

$primaryColor: #fff;

$smallFont: 14px;

SCSS nesting feature: you can nest styles in the same block using SCSS, you can do that like this

.section-block{

     display: flex;

     font-family: $fontName; (Using the variable we have declared)

     color: $primaryColor;

@media (max-width: 480px) {
     .section-block { font-size: $smallFont; }
}
}

SCSS import feature: using SCSS you enjoy the feature of the modern web way of importing files that you can't do on normal CSS.

Assuming you have another styling file you would want to import to your main.scss, you have to do it like this

*{

     box-sizing: border-box;

     margin: 0 auto;    padding: 0;

}

.container {

     max-width: 1100px;

     width: 100%;
}

@import './nav'; /*(This is an scss file containing the header styling and that's we import it)*/

.section-block{

     display: flex;

     font-family: $fontName;

     color: $primaryColor;

@media (max-width: 480px) {
    .section-block {
      font-size: $smallFont;
    }
}
}

So, I have been showing code samples without showing you how to make your Scss files working on the web.

To do this

You have to click the "Watch Scss" beneath your VsCode editor

After that, the Live Sass Compiler will create a .css file for you which you have to add to the HTML file.

Whoa!! I hope this article helps you get started understanding and using Scss. If you would love to know more about SASS, check it out here If you need help, you can get me through the comment section. See you in the next article 👋

Imposter Syndrome And How To Get Off It

USING PEOPLE IN TECH ESPECIALLY DEVELOPERS AS POINT OF TALK

Imposter syndrome is that feeling of “incompetency” in someone when they are trying to do something.

Practical Illustration:

Recruiter: What skill set do you have Me: I write web application programs with javascript and its frameworks like React. I have done a series of projects in the past. Recruiter: Okay, that’s nice. You are hired, you can start tomorrow

My head: Wow!! That was quick, wasn’t expecting it to be this easy and fast. Anyways am hired already.

At office Boss: Add feature ABC in our existing application, do this…..that….. Me: Oh!!! My God, I’m not good as this guys think I am, I think I have been faking myself. My head: These guys will kick you out next month before you know it. You can’t do this.

Me: feeling like an imposter right now, should I tell them I know no shit?

Okay, that’s how practical I can be able to explain imposter syndrome at my level right now, Lol.

So I decided to write about this imposter syndrome especially for developers because often times I have fallen in this very state of mind and have seen friends also who are stuck in it. Imposter Syndrome makes you feel like you’re a fraudster and you will be caught soon, it makes you feel very unqualified for the work you do or the work assigned to you to do. Yeah!! But the good news is that you’re not the only one affected by this thing, even senior developers most times find themselves in this truck of destruction and the bad news is if you allow it get deep to you without taking a proper action it might ruin your career. Lately, in the Tech industry especially in the Developers ecosystem, this imposter syndrome has become a talk and experienced people who have gotten off it try to preach how both senior developers, junior developers, and code newbies can get off imposter syndrome. Before anything else you should

stop comparing yourself with anybody else

know that know nobody knows it all (absolutely nobody)

Start setting goals and build growth rather than sit down and compare skill

Learn how to do things at your pace and which learning pattern works for you

When you are stucked ask from a friend (that's a great reason and importance of belonging to a Developer’s Community as a developer)

Learn how to Learn (drive your car yourself)

Don’t quit any step, it’s fine if you give it a break and then get back later on it

When you’re getting the feeling of imposter syndrome, try to do something different which you like doing so that you can clear your memory at the moment.

Don’t force anything on yourself

So at the last words, I encourage you not to feel you are the only one having this imposter syndrome experience. You are not alone, you are not unqualified.

Started this very Tech Journey properly as of late 2015 as a developer using Wordpress, funny enough it seemed so interesting and i felt i have arrived at the top of the World. But not so, because as time goes by i saw people doing a lot of things in tech either as developers, tech consultants, tech blogger/writers, graphics and many more stuff. But i tried as much to reach out to people using what i already know (by this time i'm already good with my Html/Css cum Bootstrap and javasript. I created a blog to bring tech education closer to my locality and i did.

I noticed that what i had wasn't enough, so i tried to learn more to develop myself and educate people. Today i'm a junior front-end developer that cools off with the little cash i make. Recently advancing in ReactJS

I am still growing. What's yours
