Introduction

As an IT Support & Infrastructure Specialist pursuing NVQ Level 6 in Network Security, my goal is to bridge traditional enterprise routing/switching with modern AWS Cloud Infrastructure. Today, I launched my first AWS EC2 instance to examine cloud security groups and remote access control.

Key Steps Taken:

Set up an AWS Free Tier Management Console.

Provisioned an Ubuntu Linux server on EC2.

Configured Security Group rules restricting inbound traffic to SSH (Port 22).

Connected via SSH using generated RSA Key Pairs.

Looking Ahead:

Next, I will be setting up a custom AWS VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) with public and private subnets to mirror enterprise dual-homed networks. Stay tuned for the architecture breakdown!
