Android apps API version managing problem.

I have a android apps version 1.0.1. Now api and feature changed, current version would be 2.0.1. So I have to force the user to upgrade the apps. But at first I have to submit the apps to playstore and update the api to server for new features.

My question:

Playstore needs time to review my apps, at that time, How I will mange my existing users(version 1.0.1), Because my api and database changed.
How I will test version 2.0.1 at live before app update approval ?

I know OOP in PHP. But I do not know how to use them as a master of OOP. So I want to learn OOP deeply with a project. Is there any standard video of a project using OOP in PHP ? I want to learn standard coding also.
