I wanted printable city maps without learning GIS software, so I tested whether a plain chat message to Claude could make one. It can. Here are three prompts that worked for me, short versions of what is in a free pack I made.

You need Claude and a web browser. Each prompt returns one HTML file: save it as
map.html
and open it. Map tiles come from OpenFreeMap, which is free and needs no key, and the data is from OpenStreetMap.

 1. A city poster

Make one HTML file: a map of Jaipur, black and white, A3 portrait, with the title JAIPUR and a Save PNG button.

You get a black-and-white street map with a title and a button that saves a print-ready PNG. Ask "same, but dark with amber roads" and it gives you a new look. For A3 at 300 dpi you need 3508 x 4961 pixels.

 2. A trip map from a list

Turn this list of stops into a map: numbered dots, a dashed line in order, and a popup with each place name.

Paste your stops (I used a 4-day Udaipur to Jaisalmer trip). Tap a dot and the place and the day appear.

Check the places. Claude can get coordinates wrong, and it flags the ones it is unsure about. Always check them on a real map before you travel.

 3. A map coloured by your numbers

Make a world map coloured by population, with a legend and a popup when I tap a country.

Darker means more people. Not happy with the colours? Say "make it blue instead".

Watch it (3 minutes, no voice)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoL1VXhVK_Y

 The free pack

I put 10 tested prompts like these in a free PDF, no sign-up needed to read it: https://keeromaps.pages.dev/prompts#free

I made it myself and I would like to hear what breaks. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, tiles by OpenFreeMap.
