Why I stopped using random "Image to PDF" sites (and built my own using JS)

Hey everyone!

Have you ever needed to convert photos of your ID card, medical records, or receipts into a single PDF? If you search for it, there are thousands of free tools. But there is a huge problem: you usually have to upload your highly sensitive files to their servers.

I didn't feel comfortable uploading my personal documents to random websites just to stitch a few images together. So, as a side project, I decided to build my own 100% client-side tool.

What I built:
A simple, fast Image to PDF Converter that runs entirely in your browser. No backend processing, no uploads, and zero data collection.

The approach:
Instead of sending files to a server, I used JavaScript to handle the heavy lifting locally.

You select your images.

The tool reads them directly into the browser's memory using standard web APIs.

It scales the images, places them into a PDF structure, and triggers a local download instantly.

Because everything happens on your device, it’s actually much faster than waiting for uploads and downloads on traditional converter sites. It works offline too once the page is loaded!

You can check out the live tool here:
Image to PDF Converter

It is completely free to use. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the UI/UX, or if you have any feature suggestions to make it better! Let me know in the comments.

I built a free, browser-based tool to add watermarks to images privately

Hey everyone! 👋

I often need to quickly add watermarks or text to my images before sharing them, but I don't like uploading my photos to random third-party servers.

So, I built a simple, free Image Watermark Adder. You can add text or logos directly to your images right in your browser. Since everything happens client-side (on your device), your images are completely private and never uploaded anywhere.

It's completely free. You can check it out here:https://www.promptcrafts.online/2026/10/free-image-watermark-adder-add-text-or.html
I’d love to hear your thoughts or any feature suggestions!
