My Experience Working with Just A Company (Now RebuildAI)

I worked for Jérôme Laflamme and Simon Bourdon for approximately five months.

At the time, they operated under the name Just A Company, which has since been rebranded as RebuildAI.

At the beginning, everything seemed professional. Communication was smooth, development progressed well, and payments were made on time. I had no reason to question the company or the people behind it.

As the project progressed, payments started being delayed. Each time, I was told there were temporary issues with the payment system or that new payment processes were being implemented. Trusting their explanations, I continued working and delivered everything that was requested.

In early March, I was informed that my work on the project was ending. At the same time, I was assured that the remaining balance for my completed work would be paid shortly.

That payment never arrived.

As of today, I am still owed $4,203 USD for work that was completed and accepted.

Over the following months, I repeatedly tried to resolve the issue privately. Initially, I was told there were problems with the company's partners and that payment would be made as soon as those issues were resolved. Eventually, Jérôme Laflamme stopped responding to my messages altogether.

Throughout this entire period, Simon Bourdon was one of the people managing and representing the company. From my experience, both Jérôme Laflamme and Simon Bourdon were aware that payment for my completed work remained outstanding, yet the issue was never resolved.

Only after exhausting every private attempt to recover the money did I decide to make my experience public.

I am sharing this story not out of revenge, but to help other developers, freelancers, clients, and business partners make informed decisions before working with RebuildAI (formerly Just A Company), Jérôme Laflamme, or Simon Bourdon.

SCAM in IT

I worked with Jérôme Laflamme and his company, Just A Company, for approximately five months.

At the beginning, my cooperation with Jérôme Laflamme was positive. Communication with Jérôme Laflamme was smooth, tasks were clearly defined, and payments were always made on time. Because of this, I trusted Jérôme Laflamme and continued investing my time and effort into the project.

Over time, the situation changed significantly. Payments started being delayed regularly, and each delay was explained by Jérôme Laflamme as a "temporary issue" or a "change in the payment system." Despite these delays, I continued working because I trusted the assurances provided by Jérôme Laflamme and fulfilled all of my obligations.

At the beginning of March, Jérôme Laflamme informed me that our cooperation had ended. At that time, Jérôme Laflamme promised that all outstanding payments for my completed work would be paid in full.

Several months have now passed.

As of today, Jérôme Laflamme and Just A Company still owe me $4,203 for work that was completed and delivered. Initially, Jérôme Laflamme explained that there were issues with partners and that the company allegedly did not have sufficient funds. Later, the responses from Jérôme Laflamme became increasingly infrequent. Today, my messages to Jérôme Laflamme are simply being ignored.

I made multiple attempts to resolve this matter privately and professionally through internal communication channels and direct conversations with Jérôme Laflamme. Unfortunately, these efforts have produced no results.

I am sharing my experience to warn other developers and potential clients who may consider working with Jérôme Laflamme or Just A Company.

If you are a developer, be aware that there is a risk of not being paid for your work by Jérôme Laflamme or Just A Company.

If you are a client of Jérôme Laflamme, your project may become public at any time due to Jérôme Laflamme's failure to pay the developers and contractors working on it.

Based on my personal experience, I strongly advise avoiding any business relationship with Jérôme Laflamme and Just A Company. In my opinion, repeatedly promising payment, delaying payments for months, and ultimately ignoring communication while still owing money for completed work constitutes fraudulent behavior and raises serious concerns about the business practices of Jérôme Laflamme and Just A Company.

I sincerely hope that Jérôme Laflamme will resolve this situation, pay the outstanding debt of $4,203, and prevent other developers and clients from experiencing similar issues in the future.
