This weekend I spent time learning about how a feature flag like LaunchDarkly actually works. I have created an YT video about the same covering detailed design. It covers various topics like polling vs push, holding 50M connections, consistent hashing, the outbox pattern, and what breaks when each machine dies. Do check it out and share your feedback:
https://youtu.be/GsRR__fz854

I am planning to add more such videos. Do check it out and follow if you find it useful.

I made an 8-minute explainer on why Java needs a garbage collector at all: why freeing memory by hand breaks, why counting references fails on cycles, and how a Java program can still leak memory: https://youtu.be/Nr4aKsJaU2Y"
