Building brand ratings that can’t be bought by design

IndexFair publishes independent analytical ratings of consumer brands.

The interesting part is not the homepage — it’s the constraint set:

scores from public data and a published, versioned methodology

same rules for every brand

no featured tier

no star ratings

missing measurement lowers confidence instead of quietly filling the number

Most online rankings rearrange themselves around commercial incentives. We wanted the opposite: a structure where the method is inspectable, and money has nowhere to enter the ranking.

Public materials live here:

Site: https://indexfair.com

Methodology: https://indexfair.com/methodology

GitHub org (profile only, no product source): https://github.com/Indexfair

Essay: https://indexfair.com/insights/how-the-rating-game-works

This post is a pointer, not a dump of internals. The product codebase stays private. The method does not.
