Three hours ago I forked Forem, asked GH support to detach fork, they happily did it, and now Im cloning it to my local dev machine.

Starting working on my version of it. Many things in my mind.

Will update this post.......

I decided to fork & detach simply because it turned up that Forem team lies constantly.

About being open-source, about being inclusive, about .... almost everything.

change the name,
change license,
make Forem ( or whatever name we select ) fully open-source,
create working mobile apps ( Android / iOS )
make code portable,
improve code quality,
introduce new features.
rework/redesign many existing features,
follow our standards,

and much more.

About "inclusiveness" of Forem team

Recently Ive written some harsh criticism. Ive been criticising current Forem team and their values.

One reply ( written by team member ) was something about inclusiveness of team, me being a selfish person ( hey, seriously? ) etc. Generally standard tactic: shift guilt away from real culprit as much as possible. Shady and disregarding as hell.

Meanwhile: when I try to login into forem.dev Im greeted with:

Commentary words not needed. Inclusitivity at its best........

When browsing AppStore there are two apps:

dev.to
Forem

Now, the fact that dev.to app is discontinued is secret. No clearly visible official announcement ( this is well-hidden ), not to mention that app is still available from AppStore.

Some kind of sad joke this is.....

Another sad joke is " quality " of this Forem app...... my posts written on MBP are not visible in Dashboard in my iOS app, animations lags, coverage is non-existent........

Also :: on MBP I follow 3 users; in iOS app I follow ...... 0. Shouldnt app be in full sync with my account?

Community friendliness on dev.to? C'mon, its a myth

I've been browsing feed, and wanted to comment on sth. First comment went through without any fuss, but - on the second article - gave me:

I mean: I think I understand where this comming from, but this is highly discouraging.

There are many - way more effective - ways to combat spam than this shitty blockage.

The way it was handled here, speak volumes about person(s) who coded / manage dev.to; Unexperienced newbies.

Dont get me wrong: props for creating dev.to, but its essential to carry out indepth "investigation" on what are best practices prior starting things like dev.to
