IBM Developer Advocates Lennart Frantzell and Marek Sadowsky join forces to introduce developers to cloud computing in four sessions.

The Cloud is the cornerstone of the world economy and needs more developers who understand cloud computing. Our goal is to get you started on that path as quickly as possible, focusing on one of the major clouds in the market today: the IBM Cloud. But what you learn about the IBM Cloud can easily be applied to the other major clouds in the market place.

This workshop will help you get started using cloud computing, and point you to the resources to find additional help when you want to go deeper.

Session One: Thursday, May 14, 2020
IBM Cloud Series — Getting Started with Serverless Computing https://www.meetup.com/IBM-Developer-SF-Bay-Area-Meetup/events/270460820/

Session Two: Thursday May 21, 2020
IBM Cloud Series - Getting Started with Containers
https://www.meetup.com/IBM-Developer-SF-Bay-Area-Meetup/events/270460871/

Session Three : Thursday May 28, 2020
IBM Cloud Series - Getting Started with AI
https://www.meetup.com/IBM-Developer-SF-Bay-Area-Meetup/events/270460924/

Session Four : Thursday June 4, 2020
IBM Cloud Series — Getting Started with Edge
https://www.meetup.com/IBM-Developer-SF-Bay-Area-Meetup/events/270460963/

Each session lasts two hours and is on-line with screen sharing. Our goal
is to point you in the right direction, get you writing simple cloud-hosted apps and get you ready to walk on your own.

You will learn to feel confident about working in the IBM Cloud environment, or in any other cloud environment.

So join us, or view the recorded sessions afterwords.

After the fall of the Bitcoin movement, how will the Stablecoin movement with Libra and Gram play out?

Will the Stablecoin movement succeed where Bitcoin failed?

The cryptocurrency movement that was started by Satoshi Nakamoto at the end of the global financial crisis in 2008 focused on Bitcoin and its transport mechanism Blockchain. But Bitcoin had an Achilles heel which was that the currency wasn't tied to any established currency and so came to fluctuate almost as much as the Deutschmark in Weimar Germany at the end of the 1920s.

But it is also possible to create a digital currency and tie it to an established non-digit currency, a s.c. Stablecoin. Which give you a digital currency without all the fluctuations of a Bitcoin-type cryptocurrency.

And maybe that is the way forward for the future of cryptocurrencies.

Babies with Smartphones are changing the world

The thing about babies is that they are tiny tiny, need lots of help with everything from wiping their behinds to being fed. Most of them make an incredible amount of noice But at the same time they make amazing discoveries and can often do things that we as grown-ups don't pay enough attention to. Like using Smartphones to discover the world:

This is really an amazing story, because babies and infants don't know how to read, so how can then navigate a smartphone? Well they can identify the icons and buttons on the smartphone and so learn to navigate the smartphone long before they learn to read. The results are often startling:

Buttons, Smartphones and Babies will change the world
