🚀 First Responsive Landing Page — Completed! 🚀

I’m excited to share my latest project — a fully responsive landing page built from scratch with HTML and CSS. Inspired by my wife’s work as a yoga instructor, this project was a great opportunity to strengthen my frontend development skills while focusing on clean design, accessibility, and performance.
It was also my first time applying color theory in a real-world project. Experimenting with palettes and complementary color schemes gave me a deeper understanding of how design decisions directly influence usability and user engagement.
Throughout the build, I encountered and solved several challenges that helped me grow as a developer:

🧩 Responsive grid logic: My initial use of minmax() (minmax(230px, 200)) caused layout inconsistencies. Refactoring it to minmax(200px, 230px) taught me valuable lessons about CSS Grid behavior and responsive layout strategies.

📱 Cross-browser debugging: Styles weren’t appearing on iOS Safari due to aggressive caching. Identifying and resolving this issue reinforced the importance of thorough testing across devices and environments.

This project gave me hands-on experience with responsive design, CSS grid/flexbox, color theory, and browser debugging — and I’m excited to apply these skills to more complex, production-level projects moving forward.

🔧 Tech Stack: HTML, CSS
Hi everyone, I've just wrapped up my first static page and couldn't wait to share it! 👋

This was my first real project using CSS Flexbox, and I learned a ton. 💻 I hit a snag trying to center the hero image; the fixed header kept covering the top portion of it. After a bit of digging, I figured out that offsetting the section with a margin-top was the solution. It felt great to solve that puzzle! 💡

Next up, I'll be tackling mobile responsiveness. But for now, I'm really happy to have this project in my portfolio. ✨

If you have a moment to look, I'd love to get your feedback on how I can write cleaner code or improve the page in general. Any advice is welcome! 👇

Thanks so much! 😊

Made some upgrades to my little “newbie project” … while at work! 🤫💻

Codecademy finally introduced buttons (goodbye boring links 👋), so as promised, I updated my project to reflect my progress.
This project isn’t about teaching the content—there are already amazing resources for that—but about tracking how I improve using the same project as I learn.

So, what’s new?

✅ Links out, buttons in! Because honestly, who wants plain links when you can click stylish, interactive buttons? 😎
✅ Added hover effects… and then watched my entire webpage do the cha-cha 💃 (turned out to be a display/position issue, not magic). Took me 30 minutes to fix it!
✅ Increased the nav section height so it stays rock solid instead of bouncing like a trampoline.

As always, I’d really appreciate your feedback on how I can make my code cleaner while keeping it simple. The goal is to keep it basic and improve step by step as I move forward.
Thanks for following along! 🙌

First Project after restarting my learning journey

Hi everyone!
So, what brings me here? My name is Leo, and I’m currently working a blue-collar job while pursuing a career change into web development. I started this journey last winter with The Odin Project, and at first, I was thrilled. HTML and CSS felt natural and fun—I breezed through them.
Then came JavaScript… and that’s where things got challenging. At first, I was making progress—learning functions, using the console, and understanding the basics. But when I got to arrays and their methods, I made the mistake of obsessing over every single one. I ended up doing 15 exercises a day (thanks to ChatGPT), and eventually, I burned myself out.
After taking a break, I decided to start fresh, this time with Codecademy for a different perspective. I didn’t want to redo The Odin Project because I felt I had forgotten a lot and needed a structured restart.
I just finished a basic HTML and CSS project—nothing fancy yet, no Flexbox or Grid for now. I’d love for you all to take a look and share your thoughts:
How can I write cleaner code?
Where could I have taken a different approach?
This is just the beginning of a bigger project—I plan to keep building on it little by little. For now, I wanted to keep it simple and avoid burning out again.
Thank you so much for your time and feedback!
