Best backend course?

Hey everyone!

I'm wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for a course to sharpen up my backend skills. Ideally in Node or Golang. I'm currently a front-end dev so I am pretty comfortable with front-end React stuff, however, I feel like my backend skills have started to slip. I've looked up some courses, but most I've found tend to be full-stack, with not a whole lot of emphasis on the backend.

Any recommendations are welcome!

Thanks!

Moving from frontend dev to either backend or full-stack?

I've been working as a frontend dev for a bit over half a year now and I've found it surprisingly challenging and fun. However, career-wise, I don't want to end up as only a frontend dev, I love working full-stack, so I'm wondering if any of you have made the jump from only frontend to either full-stack or backend? If so, was it difficult? How did you prepare before going after those positions?

How do you find personal projects to work on?

Hey everyone,

I feel like I've always had the dilemma of wanting to start and actually finish a personal project, but have never found myself able to keep interest. It feels like I'll start something and immediately lose interest in it, so I never see it to completion. Maybe it's me and my lack of focus and discipline, but I also think that I haven't found anything that's actually really meaningful enough for me to work on.

So my question for you all is, what are your current personal projects, and how do you go about finding what personal project to work on.

Honestly, any insight on this is hugely welcome.

Thanks!

Anyone here live in Seattle?

I'm originally from California, currently living in New York City and now thinking about relocating to Seattle. I've been there a couple of times as a tourist and I really enjoyed the city. I'm wondering what the tech culture there is though? For example, here in NYC, it's pretty mixed. You can go out and not meet anyone working in tech, which is in contrast with San Francisco, which seems like almost everyone there works in tech. I enjoy the mixed culture in New York.

Apart from city culture, how is the nightlife? Transportation? If you live there or have lived there, feel free to drop what you love and don't love about the city!

Thanks!

I've been a React Developer for a bit now and I kind of want to dabble in mobile development. Is React Native still worth learning? Or should I just forgo it and go straight to Swift/Kotlin?
