In a major shift for the fast-food industry, KFC has signed a deal with Coca-Cola to become its U.S. beverage partner, ending its nearly 40-year relationship with PepsiCo.

The change marks the end of a long-standing partnership that has seen Pepsi products served alongside KFC’s popular fried chicken for decades. Now, Coca-Cola is set to take over as the chain’s beverage partner in the United States, bringing a familiar lineup of drinks to KFC customers.

For many customers, the switch may seem like a small change. However, beverage partnerships are an important part of the fast-food business. These deals can influence menu choices, marketing campaigns, promotional offers, and the overall dining experience.

The move also represents a significant business opportunity for Coca-Cola, giving the company a stronger presence across KFC’s U.S. locations. At the same time, it marks the end of a long chapter for PepsiCo, which has been closely associated with the restaurant for decades.

Although the change is happening in the United States, customers will be watching to see how quickly the new beverage lineup appears in restaurants and whether the transition brings any changes to menus or promotions.

Ultimately, KFC’s decision highlights how even familiar partnerships can change as major brands rethink their business strategies. For customers, the biggest question may be a simple one: will their favorite drink taste just as good with their KFC meal?

Pumas vs Cruz Azul: A Rivalry That Feels Like a Clásico

Pumas and Cruz Azul aren’t supposed to be a “Clásico.” Mexican football already has two: América vs Guadalajara, and América vs just about everyone else in Mexico City. But if you watched Sunday night at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario, you’d have a hard time arguing this one doesn’t belong in the conversation.

The game finished 3-3. Six goals, a red card, a two-goal comeback and a last-gasp equalizer. It had everything except a winner.

A Sunday night that refused to behave

Pumas came out flying. Juninho opened the scoring in the 10th minute, and César “Chino” Huerta made it 2-0 six minutes later. Then Huerta got himself sent off before halftime, and you could almost feel the whole stadium exhale at once.

Cruz Azul pulled one back just before the break through Agustín Palavecino. You’d think a team with an extra man would take over from there. Not quite. Four minutes into the second half, Robert Morales made it 3-1 for the home side, and ten-man Pumas looked like they were about to pull off something special.

Then the game turned. Andrés Montaño made it 3-2 in the 64th minute. In the 85th, Christian Ebere, the Nigerian forward, pushed in a cross at the far post, and it was 3-3. Cruz Azul coach Joel Huiqui reportedly called it “30 disastrous minutes” afterward, which tells you how little he enjoyed that stretch.

The draw leaves Cruz Azul seventh with 17 points and Pumas 12th with 13. It also extended Cruz Azul’s unbeaten run at CU to more than 30 games. For Pumas, it was one more home game without beating their neighbors, something they haven’t managed in Liga MX in five years.

So where did the “obsession” come from?

Fans have a name for all this: the “Clásico de la Obsesión.” Pumas supporters coined it on social media, and the joke is that Cruz Azul is obsessed with beating the university side, especially when it matters most. Cruz Azul fans, naturally, would say it works both ways.

The history backs up the drama. Back in the Guard1anes 2020 semifinals, Cruz Azul won the first leg 4-0, and everyone assumed the tie was done. Then Pumas came back and knocked them out. Fans on both sides still haven’t forgotten it.

The tension got another layer in 2025, when Cruz Azul had to play its home games at CU while its own stadium was unavailable. They treated the place like their own living room, and Pumas fans watched from the outside, not thrilled.

The final that sealed it

The biggest chapter came last May. Cruz Azul and Pumas met in the Clausura 2026 final, and the second leg was at CU. Cruz Azul won 2-1 on aggregate, with Rodolfo Rotondi scoring in the final minute, and lifted its tenth league title in the opponent’s own stadium.

For Cruz Azul, it was sweet. For Pumas, who were chasing their first title in 15 years, it was brutal. Some Mexican outlets have since declared Cruz Azul the “absolute winner” of the rivalry. Pumas fans will surely have thoughts about that.

Is it really a Clásico?

Honestly, it depends who you ask. By tradition, it isn’t one. It lacks the history and national weight of the big América matchups, and even supporters of both clubs would probably admit that. It also has a social-class story that gives it extra flavor: Cruz Azul was born from a cement cooperative and has working-class roots, while Pumas is the university club, young and academic.

But rivalries aren’t made of trophies alone. They’re made of nights like Sunday: late goals, bad blood, nobody willing to back down. Both fanbases care about this game more than most league fixtures, and that’s the part that counts.

So call it a Clásico or don’t. When these two meet, nobody in Mexico City is looking away.

How to Install a 36-Inch Monitor Industrial Pitless Unit: A Step-by-Step Guide.

A quality installation of a monitor pitless unit can be made easily and economically, creating a sound, cost-saving solution. For the purposes of this video, we will be using a 36-inch diameter custom industrial pitless unit. Before beginning installation, establish the ground level at the well location.

The pitless unit's upper casing should extend above ground level, according to state well code. Excavate around the existing well casing according to state and local codes to determine where the casing is to be cut. This is typically 2 to 3 feet below the bury depth.

It is very important to understand the soil type and utilize a protective system. This video shows a trench box in place to prevent cave-ins. Find the well casing's plumb deviation and mark the spots using a level.

Measure and chalk a line to mark the appropriate location to cut or torch the well casing. Be sure the well casing is supported when cutting the casing. Cut the well casing perpendicular to the well casing centerline.

Now remove the pitless unit cap, loosen the hold-down hooks, and remove the spool assembly. Position well tabs on the existing well casing to help align and support the pitless unit. Position the pitless unit over the cut-off well casing and rotate the discharge body to align with the existing lateral waterline.

Next, tack weld the pitless unit to the well casing at the two plumb marks and tilt the pitless unit until its deviation from plumb equals the casing deviation. This procedure is necessary to ensure the spool properly seals inside the discharge body. By skipping this step, the drop pipe may bend, creating additional stress on the spool assembly and preventing it from sealing properly.

After the unit is completely secure to the well casing, pressure test the pitless unit to ensure no leaks are present. Connect the discharge outlet to the distribution line. The pitless unit is now ready for partial backfill.

Be sure steps are taken to properly fill under the discharge line to minimize ground settling. Next, install the conduit for the electrical wires. You are now ready to set the submersible pump.

A waterproof splice is required on all motor leads. Be sure to refer to the installation instructions of the motor manufacturer for proper splicing techniques. You can now attach the submersible pump to the drop pipe.

Be sure to rotate motor shaft to properly align with the coupling splines. Once aligned, evenly torque bolts in a criss-crossing pattern and secure in place. This installation incorporates a flow sleeve to increase the water velocity past the motor.

The flow sleeve was required in this application due to the large 36-inch diameter well casing. Depending on your pump set, you may require multiple check valves. Check valves are recommended every 200 feet.

Precautions should be taken to prevent damage to the electrical wires when passing check valves. A protective shield is recommended to prevent the wire insulation from scraping on the inside diameter of the well casing. Continue to couple lengths of pipe until you reach the proper depth of your well.

The last section of pipe will connect directly to the bottom of the spool's drop pipe connection. Once the final drop connection is tight, wipe down the rubber O-ring seals with a clean cloth and add a generous layer of petroleum jelly. The spool provides openings to allow electrical wires, probe tube, and air test line to pass through.

Once complete, lower the spool assembly. An air test line and pressure transducer may be required. Both function as a method to measure the water level within your well.

If a pressure transducer is required, a probe tube or conduit will allow for a simpler installation. Once seated, tighten hold-down hooks to prevent rotation. After completing the final electrical connections, you may install the cap.
