Codex Claude Bridge: let Codex coordinate Claude Code

Codex Claude Bridge lets Codex delegate coding to Claude Code, receive results, and review the actual changes—all through a local MCP bridge.

Give Codex a goal, workspace, and acceptance criteria. It can:

Create Claude Code sessions or reconnect to an existing session by UUID.

Delegate new work in isolated Git worktrees, then review and merge it.

Receive completed batches, blockers, and requests for decisions.

Adjust interaction frequency and reasoning effort independently.

Reuse check results when the source snapshot, environment, and scope still match.

The benefit is straightforward: less copying between windows, fewer manual progress checks, and clearer handoffs. Codex stays involved in planning and review while Claude handles scoped implementation.

It keeps your existing Claude Code model configuration, including third-party providers. Windows and macOS are supported. Orca is optional; ordinary terminals work too.

 Install

You'll need Codex CLI, a working Claude Code setup, Node.js 20+, and Git.

codex plugin marketplace add https://github.com/lordfine/codex-claude-bridge.git
codex plugin add claude-code@codex-claude-bridge

Load the plugin, check the bridge environment, and start with a small task:

Have Claude improve this repository's README in an isolated worktree. Review the changes and show me the diff before merging.

GitHub: setup, examples, and current limitations

I'd welcome feedback on session recovery, handoffs, and coordination overhead.
