I wanted ASCII art for a project banner. Free only, no account, no upload.

Tried four tools. Every single one required guessing column width, character style, and inversion settings — output either crushed detail or turned into static noise. Took 20 minutes to get one usable result.

Then found this. Pre-tuned defaults — it picked the right character ramp and column count for my portrait on the first try. Hit "Export" and it just worked.

The AI feature is where it actually stands out: describe what you want ("cyberpunk portrait, neon on black") and it generates the source image + runs the conversion in one shot. None of the free competitors have anything close to this. Pro is $5/mo for that, plus 4K and SVG export.

If you just want to resize an image and convert it, the free tier has everything. If you've tried ASCII tools before and bounced off the tweaking treadmill — this one is different.
