INTRODUCING TASKLINK:DIGITALIZING JOB FINDING AND JOD OFFERING

Finding a reliable electrician, a weekend tutor, or a graphic designer for a one-off project in Cameroon still largely comes down to one thing: who you know. And if you're the one offering the skill — whether you're a tradesperson, a student, or a recent graduate — getting discovered by the people who need you is just as hard. There's no shared space where the two sides can simply find each other.
That's the gap TaskLink was built to close.

What is TaskLink?
TaskLink is a two-sided digital marketplace connecting clients and workers.

A client is anyone with a job that needs doing — from a repair to a translation project — who posts it along with the amount they're willing to pay.
A worker is anyone with a skill in any field, ready to take on that job for an agreed amount.

In short, TaskLink digitizes the connection between job offering and job searching — replacing word-of-mouth with a structured, searchable platform where both sides can find each other directly.

Why This Matters
Cameroon's labor market runs largely on informal, person-to-person networks. Skilled workers — electricians, cleaners, drivers, tutors — often have no digital presence and no way to build a visible reputation beyond who happens to know them. On the other side, clients have no reliable way to find or vet someone for a task without asking around first.

That inefficiency costs both sides time, income, and opportunity. TaskLink's goal is simple: give every worker a storefront, and give every client a fast, trustworthy way to find help.

Where We Are Today
As interns at DigiMark Consulting, my teammate and I have been building TaskLink from the ground up. So far, we've completed the frontend — the interface where clients will post jobs and workers will discover and apply for them — and we're now deep into building the backend that will power the platform behind the scenes.

There's still work ahead, but the foundation is in place, and we're excited about what TaskLink can become as it takes shape.
