A few weeks back, I didn’t just witness innovation — I lived in it. The FlutterFlow Innovators Hackathon 2025, hosted by the FlutterFlow Developer Group Prayagraj at the prestigious IIIT Allahabad, was nothing short of a creative explosion. Apps were built, ideas were born, cold drinks were chugged, and yes — cool stickers & swags.

As a volunteer, I was right in the middle of all the magic — learning, helping, cheering, and occasionally sprinting for more pizza.

No-Code, No Problem

If you’ve ever thought building an app meant late nights, endless lines of code, and caffeine-induced existential crises — think again. The top teams from across pan India showcased how easy and powerful app development can be using FlutterFlow, the no-code/low-code superhero of the dev world.

It was like watching ideas turn into apps faster than someone saying, “Wait, it’s already deployed?!”

From AI-based social platforms to healthcare apps that could probably diagnose your mood, the projects were innovative, immersive, and downright impressive. It wasn’t just tech — it was creativity with a user interface.

The Builders, the Buzz & the Brainpower

The energy was insane. You could feel it — in the ideas pitched, the excitement in the demo rooms, and even in the way people hovered around the swag table like it was a limited-edition NFT drop.

The top teams? Absolute legends. Not only did they showcase incredible apps, but they also proved that FlutterFlow is not just a tool — it's the future of building.

Watching them work was like watching magic happen — but instead of wands, there were widgets.

What I Learned as a Volunteer (Besides Where the Cold Drinks Are) 😄

Volunteering at this hackathon was hands-down one of the best decisions I’ve made. I got to:

Connect with some of the brightest minds in tech
Witness FlutterFlow being used to its full potential
Learn about organizing large-scale tech events (spoiler: it involves a lot of running)
And most importantly… see what real innovation looks like up close
And let’s not forget the essential ingredients of any great hackathon: pizza, cold drinks, and swags that make you feel like a startup founder.

From Firebase to Funny Poses: My Day at the Build with AI Event

Last Month, I had the pleasure of attending the “Build with AI” event organized by GDG Prayagraj, and honestly? It was part tech workshop, part creativity sprint, and part "Wait, did we just invent a new yoga pose?!"

The event was buzzing with energy, excitement, and… well, AI. We got our hands dirty (okay, digitally) with some seriously cool tools: Google’s Gemini, Vertex AI, and Google AI Studio. If you're thinking, "Whoa, that sounds intense" — you're absolutely right. But it was also a lot of fun.

Learning from the Best

We were lucky to have Anubhav Singh, a Google Developer Expert, lead the session. Not only did he break down complex AI concepts like a pro, but he also inspired us to build — not just learn. His talk wasn’t your usual “blah-blah-AI-is-the-future” spiel. Instead, he walked us through real examples, demos, and practical use cases. There were "a-ha!" moments flying around the room like confetti.

Hands-on with the Future

One of the best parts? Actually building things. I ended up creating a Firebase-integrated AI chatbot using Vertex AI and Gemini, and watching it come to life felt like magic. It was my first time working this closely with large language models (LLMs) and integrating them into a real-world app — and now I'm kinda hooked.

Creativity Meets Code

But it wasn't all just code and APIs. We explored the creative side of AI, too. Imagine using AI to generate yoga poses. Sounds serene, right?

Well, somehow in our experimentation, we accidentally (but proudly) gave birth to a brand-new pose: the Murgi Asana. That’s right — the chicken pose. Not sure if it’s yoga-approved, but it definitely got some laughs.

Gratitude Where It’s Due

A huge shoutout to Ankit Kumar Verma sir, the driving force behind GDG Prayagraj. His efforts in organizing this event, along with his insightful perspectives on AI and its real-world potential, truly elevated the experience for everyone. It’s not just about bringing people together — it’s about inspiring them to think bigger, build smarter, and stay curious. And that’s exactly what he did.

Final Thoughts

What I loved most about the event wasn’t just the tech (though that was amazing), but the vibe: the collaboration, the curiosity, the "let's try it and see what happens" attitude. AI can feel intimidating at times, but events like these remind us that it’s also a playground — one where ideas can run wild and weird, and that's a good thing.

From early morning preparations to the final wrap-up, every moment of DevFest Prayagraj was a testament to teamwork, dedication, and a shared love for technology.

The Saturday morning was filled with great enthusiasm, the eager eyes waiting to explore that beyond their pedestrian days. The generous presence of developers was overwhelming.

What's a DevFest without cool swags, fun competitions, and a feast to remember?
Swag Distribution:
Attendees were thrilled to receive GDG-branded goodies, walked away with some awesome souvenirs to remember the event. The excitement on their faces while receiving the swags was priceless.

Social Media Post & Vlog Competitions:
To make things even more exciting, we hosted a Social Media Post & Vlog Competition. Attendees were encouraged to capture their DevFest moments and share their experiences online. The best posts and vlogs that showcased creativity, engagement, and event highlights were rewarded with exclusive GDG merchandise. Seeing everyone's unique perspectives and storytelling skills was a treat.

Power Lunch:
After an intense morning filled with tech talks and hands-on sessions, it was time to refuel. The power lunch wasn't just about food - it was a networking feast. Speakers, organizers, and attendees bonded over delicious food, discussing everything from AI advancements to the best chai spots in town. It was the perfect blend of tech, community, and great food.

When Tech Talk Turns into a Spa Session

Now, let's talk about the real highlight of DevFest - getting a back massage from Dhrumil Shah, on stage, in front of everyone 😂

After hours of running around, making sure everything was perfect, I guess my exhaustion was way too visible. Dhrumil, being the absolute legend he is, decided to take matters into his own hands - literally! Right there, on stage, he gave me a quick back massage to help me relax.

Who needs a wellness break when you have Dhrumil Shah on your speaker lineup? 😆

If there was ever a "Best Speaker & Instant Masseuse" award, I know who's winning it!

The Impact & Looking Ahead

DevFest Prayagraj 2024 wasn't just an event; it was an experience - a blend of learning, networking, and community spirit. From insightful sessions to fun activities, every moment contributed to building a stronger tech ecosystem.

Get to know about new technologies :New technologies is what fascinates every developer, I especially enjoyed that part of the event you will get to know about new languages, frameworks, have an hands on experience with some languages or technology.
Discover yourself :You will be able to see where you stand among your peers. This will help you to get a direction wherever you will proceed in your career.
Awesome goodies :I got an awesome T-shirt and some cool goodies so even if you are a complete beginner at least you get these stuffs.
Awesome food :If you are lucky enough, some of these events have lunch and often conducted in a reputed place. So you will find a way to satisfy your tummies as well.
