How has AI actually impacted the world?

Funny story. I was on a date one day and the topic of AI came up. Me, being the AI advocate I am, got completely excited. That was until the girl I was on a date with started completely disrespecting AI in its entirety.

“What about all the water its wasting”

“What about all the energy its consuming”

Here’s the thing, she wasn’t wrong. She was 100% right. These are serious problems that have risen with the development of AI.

But it was only one side of the story.

AI is moving faster than almost any technology we’ve seen before. Every day there’s another headline about a breakthrough, another company announcing a new model or another debate about whether AI is helping or hurting society.

After a while, I realized something.

It’s surprisingly difficult to answer a simple question: How has AI actually impacted the world?

The information exists, but it’s spread across research papers, government reports, company announcements and thousands of news articles. Some claims are backed by solid evidence. Others are based on speculation or opinion. Finding reliable information takes time, and comparing it across different sources is even harder.

That was the motivation behind building TruVase.

TruVase is designed to organize AI’s real-world impact into one place. Instead of focusing on predictions, it focuses on documented outcomes. Every record is connected to its original source so people can see where the information came from instead of just taking a headline at face value.

The platform also includes a Source Index that organizes documented AI gains and problems, a Public Pulse that shows what users find most important without changing the underlying evidence, and an AI Company Impact Ranking that tracks major AI companies using public attention and documented activity. You can also compare companies side by side to see how they stack up.

I didn’t build TruVase to argue that AI is good or bad. I built it because I wanted a better way to understand what AI is actually doing in the real world.

If you’re interested in AI, I’d love to hear what you think. Feedback is always welcome.

Take a look: https://truvase.com
