Script Writing Burned Me Out, So I built a tool to Plan 5x Faster

In the last few years, I’ve written over 200 scripts — for YouTube channels, online courses, and branded videos. But even after the first 50, one thing never got easier:

Starting.

I’d open Google Docs with a “great idea”… and freeze.

One moment I was inspired, the next I was stuck googling stats, outlining blind, or rewriting the intro for the third time. I had tabs everywhere, random notes, and half-baked structures that didn’t hold together.

What should’ve taken 2 hours turned into 6 — or more.

The process was mentally exhausting.

 The Spark

By the end of 2024, I had a quiet realization:

“I don’t need help writing — I need help structuring and researching.”

I didn’t want a robot to write my script. I wanted a tool that could help me map out the idea clearly, give me the right talking points, help me see the structure… and get me moving faster.

So I started building something small for myself. An interface where I could type in my idea, and it would break it into sections — hook, intro, story, CTA — and pull in relevant facts, angles, and examples I could build from.

 What I Built

That scrappy side tool turned into StoryCraft — a web-based app that helps creators turn rough video ideas into structured, research-backed script flows.

It doesn’t try to write for you. Instead, it gives you:

A clean, visual map of your script’s flow

Research-backed content for each section

Built-in storytelling templates that guide your pacing

A way to think clearly and create faster — without the overwhelm

I made it for creators who don’t want to outsource their voice, but need help getting past the mess and into flow.

 Who It’s For

YouTubers who want faster outlines without killing creativity

Educators who need structure for lessons and tutorials

Agencies looking to scale script creation for clients

Writers & marketers stuck in the research phase too long

If your process looks like this:

Great idea → blank doc → 15 tabs open → no structure → 3 hours lost…

…then this is for you.

 Why It’s Different

There are a lot of AI tools that “write for you.”

That’s not what StoryCraft does.

It works with you — taking the creative pressure off, while leaving you in full control of the message. It helps you plan smarter, structure clearly, and think deeper about your content — with actual research to back it.

 The Launch

I just launched the beta at storycraft.work with early access pricing and space for feedback.

If you’re a creator who’s ever felt stuck mid-script — or someone trying to streamline the process without losing your voice — I’d love you to try it out.

DMs are open, and feedback is welcome.

This tool started as something to fix my own burnout. Now it’s out in the world. And I hope it helps you get your best ideas finished faster.
