These AI news discourage me but I am trying to keep a high spirit.

On the other side, I've been assigned to a new project on my Helpdesk job, they haven't trained us well, thus we are trying to train ourselves as a team of 3 people, meeting in office everyday. So these days I am waking up at 6:15 and arriving at office around 7:30, studying until 9, then I work until 6, it feels exhausting from time to time but I'm determined to go all the way this time.

So it is not going as fast as I want it to be. But everyday before work, I dedicate 3 to 4 hours to learning React development.

The best thing is, at least in the last 2 weeks, I progressed from 25% to 35%, so it would equal to 20% a month. Thus, with a very optimistic forecast, we can say that, in the beginning of June, I will be done with this course. Hopefully, until July I will have found an entry level job!

I am pushing really hard these days, and I am thinking it will be like this till end of the course, because I want to get there asap.
I completed 5% of the course in 5 days, that's really good.
My goal is to get a job in June, like Freddie Mercury said "Don't stop me now".

25% Of React Course Complete

I have now completed 25% of the course. In the last 2 weeks I could only complete 5% of it so I've got to increase my daily time investment. My goal is to complete 5% of the course every week, so that in 15 weeks (which makes 3.5 months) I'll complete the course, and it will hopefully be FINALLY to find some entry-level development job.

I started to dedicate weekends to spend doing projects on my own, in order to practice what I learned.

Last week I made a To-Do List app which can be seen on my github https://github.com/muratbtekin

I started to learn React from Jonas Schmedtmann on 27th of December, I could complete %20 of the 67 hour course in one month.
Consistency will bring me a react developer job after years of on and off struggle to improve my coding capabilities...

Hello Again :O

I've neglected this 'diary' for 2 months, but on the bright side, I've committed to learning React.

During this period my learning was not as intensive as before as I had to concentrate more on my German knowledge, and I reached a solid B2 level in German, however it didn't up to this point "pay off" unfortunately, because even though 1 month has passed since the end of the course, I have still not been hired!

Just before I started this little article, I was writing an essay in German and was mentioning how bad things are going at the moment. Things are bad, because although I do my part quite well, I don't seem to get what I actually deserve, and it is definitely disappointing.

Nevertheless, I will keep on with my endeavors and it will eventually DEFINITELY pay off, more or less, cause there is no other way.

Last but not least, I may return to SAP sector as a module consultant, or better yet, an SAP-ABAP developer, I have interviews ahead, we'll see how it goes...

The problem is, even at the interviews, I am very straightforward and don't the truth enough, and it may be the biggest underlying reason, that's keeping me away from 'gains' actually :)

Yeah, I need some 'attitude-adjustment' but since it feels like drifting away from my true-self, I wanna stick to my truths and actually develop myself good enough, so that people will find it not impossible to put up with me. Because at the end of the day, I am definitely a good guy, that is fighting for a just world, with equity as much as possible.

I want to quickly give an update.

Last week I reached 80% in JavaScript course and I wanted to just switch to learning React, and then in the meantime, go back to JavaScript course sometimes and be finished with it.

Also, when I was attending the React course, I realized that I lack CSS knowledge so I bought CSS course from the very best teacher: Jonas Schmedtmann, he is simply amazing.

I've already completed 5% of React Course (from John Smilga), it is a 62.5 hour-long course!

And I've completed 10% of CSS Course, which is a 37.5 hour-long course.

75% It will be definitely over before February

Unfortunately PortalGrup didn't hire me. But on the other side, German courses go well, although surprisingly, I am better than the class, and sometimes it is really boring to sit through classes where I learn nothing.

But anyways, the good thing is, I can still find time to continue with my course and I plan to definitely be done with my current course before February!

I know that German-language skills won't change my life dramatically. Maybe learning an extra language will do the trick but I am kind of fed up with language learning and actually advancing in programming is way nicer of a challenge in so many ways!

I aspire to be a goddamn good coder. The thing that sometimes made life hell for me: my ADHD, I recently learned that it can be a superpower 🤷🏻‍♂️ Now I am doing my best to make it into a superpower and I exercise pretty regularly, although I can't lower my weight, I notice the positive effects on my body and my brain.

And last but definitely not least: these may be the best days of my last decade, because I learn so goddamn much and am physically and mentally the fittest I've ever been in the last 10 years I believe...

%70, Feels Like I am Getting There

Yesterday I began with the German lessons, I still haven't heard from PortalGrup although it will be exactly 2 weeks tomorrow, after the delivery of my project.

German lessons are given by Teleperformance Company, and they will last 2 months, then I'll be working in a project of theirs.

Before the end of this course period, I will have finished this Udemy Course, and I will have already started John Smilga's React course. Hopefully after starting with the React course it will take at most 1 or 2 months for me to get hired, it would actually be wonderful, if this were the case...

Nevertheless, at the end of this road, I will have impressive language skills (German, Spanish, English, Turkish), although they don't mean much in case of a programmer; as a human being, I will be very proud of myself and I'll do my best to stick to them so they won't rust and fade away...

60% Looking Forward to Getting Finished With It

I am still waiting for an answer from the company that I sent my case to. I am hoping tomorrow they'll let me know about their final decision about me. I most certainly hope that it will be positive of course but in the case that it is a no, I am really looking forward to complete this JavaScript course, so that I can go onto doing various projects with John Smilga's course and put them on my Github.

Of course I will also upload my projects from this course as well, but I believe, learning React will be the deciding point in getting a job.

I've just realized, if I get this German-related job, after 2 months of extensive German course, I will also wait for an extra month to get my first wage, which will be 3 months in total. 3 more months without making any money! This is insane! I am quite honestly sick of not spending any money and always trying to minimize my expenditures. I got stressed upon realizing this fact just now. I've devoted myself to a quite overwhelming way and I wholeheartedly wish that these efforts will pay off in the near future...

55%, Good Things Are Happening

Since my last post, I've been talking to 2 separate companies for 2 jobs that are in completely different fields. One is a job as a German speaking customer service specialist, the other is as a JavaScript developer at a company, called PortalGrup.

PortalGrup has given me a case to me to see my capabilities in web development, more specifically JavaScript. Here is the link for the website that I handed yesterday:

https://github.com/muratbtekin/Cekilis

I can honestly say that I am proud of my achievements in both fields. After excruciating years of depression and anxiety, now, finally I've returned to my old self, and even better: to an upgraded version of my old self.

Only a person with a similar history of this big of an hurdle -that took years- can truly empathize with me on that.

Anyways, leaving the torturous part aside, now the sun is shining on my face yet again, and I will try to get the best out of it for the rest of my life without ever turning back to dark...

That German-related job will start next week, and in the meantime, I will have heard from the JavaScript job. I'll of course go with programming in the first chance that I get. But even if I start the German-related job, I'll keep on programming and I'LL CONQUER IT SOONER OR LATER!

50% Maybe I Can Get a Job?

I wrote to several HR personnel and also one boss of a technology company saying "Money is not the issue, I am only after gaining experience, first I self-studied Test Automation with Python and Selenium, then I started studying JavaScript and I want to enhance my capabilities". Then that boss wanted to see me, we talked and they told me that they are going to send me a case to see where I actually am in my coding journey.

I waited the whole day for the "case" to arrive, but they've never sent me any. I am not sure why it takes long but probably I'll remind tomorrow, this time to the boss and we'll see.

Also today a company called me to offer 2 months of German lessons and then they'd hire me. In 10 days these lessons are going to start. So chances are, I am going to be starting with either of 2 in 10 days. Let's see where this peculiar journey takes me! But in either case, I'll complete my JavaScript course, and then I'll move onto John Smilga's course on React.
