Organizing documents and reviewing spending can take time away from paid work.</p> <p>FreelanceFlow explores how a single workspace could make these everyday tasks easier.</p> <h2> Key Features </h2> <p>The interface includes:</p> <ul> <li> <strong>Dashboard:</strong> A central overview of the accounting workspace.</li> <li> <strong>Document Uploads:</strong> A workflow for managing invoices and receipts.</li> <li> <strong>AI Extraction:</strong> An interface for exploring automated extraction of financial details.</li> <li> <strong>Expense Manager:</strong> A place to organize business expenses.</li> <li> <strong>AI Expense Summary:</strong> A workflow for reviewing spending.</li> <li> <strong>Export:</strong> An interface for exporting financial information.</li> <li> <strong>AI Settings:</strong> A section designed to explore connecting a self-hosted model endpoint.</li> </ul> <h2> Why Open Innovation Matters </h2> <p>Open-source AI gives developers the opportunity to experiment with models they can inspect, run, and customize.</p> <p>For a financial assistant, local model hosting is especially interesting because invoices and receipts may contain sensitive information. A future local-model workflow could give users greater control over where their data is processed.</p> <p>FreelanceFlow explores this direction through its AI settings interface. Connecting and testing a self-hosted model end to end is an important next step.</p> <h2> What I Learned </h2> <p>Building FreelanceFlow helped me explore how a focused web interface can bring multiple accounting workflows together.</p> <p>It also reinforced an important lesson: an AI-oriented interface is not the same as a verified AI integration.
