What I Built

During our hackathon journey at InnoHacks, my team and I worked on AutoShip, a solution designed to simplify one of the biggest challenges faced by small and medium-sized e-commerce sellers: listing the same product across multiple online marketplaces.

Manually creating product listings on different platforms is repetitive, time-consuming, and prone to errors. Sellers often need to rewrite product titles and descriptions, upload images again, and manage product information separately for every marketplace.

That’s where AutoShip comes in!

Our goal is to build a bridge between marketplaces like Amazon and eBay, helping sellers simplify their workflow, reduce repetitive tasks, and expand their reach to international customers.

 Demo

We are working on turning our idea into a functional solution that makes cross-platform product listing easier and more efficient.

Project: AutoShip

GitHub: https://github.com/NEEELAKSHINIKKY/AutoShip_Xtriviay
Live Demo: https://youtu.be/OdMmfyYAUio?si=tDF42cqIqaijb1xP

We aim to make product management more seamless by reducing the manual effort required to manage listings across different platforms.

 Partner Technologies

While building AutoShip, we explored technologies that helped us develop the application and manage its different components.

Next.js: For building the frontend and user interface.

Firebase Authentication: For user authentication and account management.

Supabase: For storing and managing product listing data.

Node.js and Express.js: For developing backend APIs and handling application logic.

Working with these technologies helped us understand how frontend, backend, authentication, and database services work together to create a complete application.

One of our key challenges was thinking beyond the interface and considering how product data could move between platforms reliably. We also explored the challenges of integrating with marketplaces that have different API capabilities and requirements.

 Hackathon Experience

Participating in InnoHacks has been an exciting opportunity to turn a real-world problem into a potential product.

The idea behind AutoShip came from a practical challenge: repeatedly listing the same product on different e-commerce platforms is hectic and inefficient. We wanted to explore how technology could reduce this burden, especially for small-scale sellers who want to grow their businesses without spending hours on repetitive work.

Working with my teammates, taught me the importance of collaboration, brainstorming, dividing responsibilities, and continuously improving an idea based on practical requirements.

The experience also encouraged us to think about scalability, user experience, and the business value of the solution rather than focusing only on writing code.

A particularly interesting part of this journey was exploring how a product like AutoShip could support sellers looking to reach international marketplaces such as eBay and potentially improve their business opportunities.

 What I Learned

This hackathon taught me that building a useful product involves much more than choosing a tech stack and implementing features.

Some of my biggest takeaways were:

Identifying a genuine problem before jumping into development.

Designing a solution around real user needs.

Understanding the challenges of third-party API integrations.

Collaborating effectively and dividing responsibilities within a team.

Thinking about scalability and the business impact of a technical solution.

Learning through experimentation, debugging, and feedback.

 What's Next?

We want to continue improving AutoShip by making product listing more seamless, strengthening integrations, and exploring ways to support more marketplaces.

Our long-term vision is to help sellers manage their products more efficiently, reduce repetitive work, and focus more on growing their businesses.

This is just the beginning, and we're excited to see where the journey takes us!

I'd love to hear your thoughts: What challenges have you faced while building a hackathon project, or what repetitive task do you think technology should automate next?
