Show Dev: MHA OC Maker – Create My Hero Academia Style Original Characters with AI

I recently built MHA OC Maker, an AI tool that allows anime fans to generate their own My Hero Academia-style original characters (OCs).

🔗 Try it here:
https://aiocmaker.com/oc-maker/mha-oc-maker

Why I Built This

In many anime communities, creating OCs (Original Characters) is a big part of fan creativity. Tools like avatar builders exist, but they usually rely on selecting fixed parts (hair, eyes, clothing).

I wanted to experiment with a different approach: using AI to generate anime-style characters directly from text descriptions.

This means you can describe almost any idea and generate a character instantly.

Examples:

A shy support hero with lightning abilities

A UA student with plant-based powers

A mysterious villain with shadow manipulation

What the Tool Can Do

Generate anime-style characters inspired by My Hero Academia

Text-to-image character generation

Multiple variations per prompt

Simple web interface for quick iterations

How It Works

The tool uses AI image generation models combined with prompt templates optimized for anime characters. The goal is to make OC creation simple even for people who cannot draw.

Instead of building characters piece by piece, you can just write your idea and see what AI creates.

Future Plans

Some features I'm exploring next:

Structured OC builder (hero type, quirk, personality)

Character backstory generator

Pose and costume variations

Export options for storytelling or roleplaying

If you're into anime, OC creation, or AI tools, I'd love to hear your feedback.

As developers, we often think in systems, logic, and repeatability.
But lately, I’ve been fascinated by the opposite side of things: intuition, reflection, and uncertainty.

That curiosity led me to build One Card Tarot — a minimal web app that offers a one card tarot reading for anyone looking for quick guidance or a moment of clarity.

Why One Card Tarot?

Traditional tarot spreads can feel intimidating, especially for beginners.
The idea behind one card tarot is simple:

Ask a clear question

Draw a single card

Reflect on the message it brings

No complex layouts. No prior tarot knowledge required.

This format works surprisingly well for:

Daily guidance

Decision-making moments

Love or relationship questions

Self-reflection breaks during a busy day

Sometimes one card is enough.

What I Built

One Card Tarot is a lightweight, browser-based experience:

🔮 Free one card tarot readings

⚡ Instant results, no signup required

🧠 AI-assisted interpretation for modern context

🌍 Accessible on desktop and mobile

You can try it here:

Why This Matters (Especially for Developers)

We build tools to solve problems — but not every problem needs a dashboard or a spreadsheet.

This project reminded me that:

Simple UX can create meaningful moments

Reflection is a feature, not a bug

Even small side projects can help people pause and think

A one card tarot reading isn’t about predicting the future — it’s about framing the present.

SEO Note for Fellow Indie Hackers

Interestingly, “one card tarot” is a strong niche keyword:

Clear intent

Beginner-friendly

Low cognitive load for users

If you’re experimenting with content-driven products, this is a great example of how focus beats complexity.

Try It & Share Your Thoughts

If you’re curious, distracted, or just want a different way to reflect today, give it a try:

I’d love to hear:

What card did you draw?

Did it resonate with your situation?

How do you think about intuition-driven tools as developers?

Thanks for reading — and happy building

The Fool Tarot: What This Card Really Means as Feelings

When people hear “tarot,” they often think of predictions or fortune-telling. But in practice, tarot is a surprisingly effective tool for self-reflection, especially when exploring emotions and relationships.

One of the most misunderstood cards is The Fool Tarot.

At first glance, The Fool looks carefree, even naive. But emotionally, this card carries much deeper meaning.

Understanding The Fool Tarot

The Fool represents:

New beginnings

Curiosity and openness

Emotional freedom

Taking a leap of faith without guarantees

Unlike cards driven by control or certainty, The Fool is about trusting the experience itself — even when the outcome is unclear.

The Fool as Feelings

When The Fool appears in a feelings or relationship reading, it often points to emotions such as:

Genuine excitement

Innocent attraction

Emotional openness without heavy expectations

A desire to explore rather than define

This doesn’t always mean “immaturity.” Instead, it can indicate a state where emotions are unburdened by fear, past wounds, or rigid labels.

Sometimes, The Fool shows up when someone feels drawn to another person but doesn’t want to overanalyze or rush the connection.

Why This Interpretation Matters

Many people searching for “tarot as feelings” are actually asking deeper questions:

Is this person emotionally available?

Are these feelings real or just a phase?

Should I move forward or hold back?

The Fool doesn’t give a yes-or-no answer. It invites reflection:

Are you willing to experience something new without demanding certainty?

A Deeper Breakdown

I’ve written a detailed interpretation of The Fool Tarot as feelings, covering upright and reversed meanings, emotional patterns, and common relationship scenarios.

👉 Read the full guide here:
https://www.randomtarotcard.org/tarot-card-meaning/the-fool-as-feelings

Final Thoughts

Tarot doesn’t replace logic or decision-making — but it can help you understand emotional states more clearly. The Fool reminds us that sometimes, the most honest feelings are the ones that haven’t been overthought yet.

If you’re building tools, content, or products around self-reflection, tarot is an interesting example of how symbolic systems can guide human insight.

Thanks for reading ✨

I Built an AI Tarot Reading Tool That Goes Deeper Than Just Card Meanings

arot has always been about more than predicting the future — it’s about reflection, patterns, and asking better questions.

Recently, I built an AI-powered Tarot Reading tool that tries to go beyond traditional “card interpretation” and explore the core of a question, its hidden layers, and the emotions behind it.

👉 Live demo: https://www.randomtarotcard.org/ai-tarot-reading

✨ What Makes This AI Tarot Reading Different?

Most online tarot tools stop at explaining what each card means. This one doesn’t.

Here’s what the AI Tarot Reading provides for each question:

1️⃣ A Standard Tarot Interpretation

You still get a clear, structured tarot reading based on the drawn cards — upright meanings, symbolism, and narrative flow.

2️⃣ The Core Essence of Your Question

The AI analyzes the question itself and identifies the underlying issue behind it.
Often, the question we ask isn’t the real question we need answered.

“Is this really about your career… or about your fear of instability?”

This layer is designed to help users reflect more deeply, not just seek reassurance.

3️⃣ Related & Hidden Questions

For every reading, the system also generates associated questions — the ones users may not have thought to ask but are closely connected.

This turns a single tarot pull into a guided self-inquiry session.

4️⃣ Emotion-Based Poster Generation 🎨

Each reading comes with a generated emotional poster, visualizing the mood and energy of the reading.

It’s surprisingly effective for:

Emotional resonance

Sharing on social media

Journaling or reflection

🧠 Why Build This?

As a developer, I’m fascinated by how AI can:

Encourage introspection instead of giving “answers”

Combine symbolic systems (tarot) with language models

Create emotionally meaningful outputs, not just text

This project sits at the intersection of:

AI + creativity

UX + emotional design

Ancient systems + modern models

🛠️ Tech & Experimentation

While the UI is intentionally simple, the real focus was on:

Prompt structuring for layered analysis

Maintaining interpretive tone without sounding deterministic

Aligning emotional visuals with textual meaning

This is still an evolving experiment, and I’m actively iterating based on feedback.

🔗 Try It Yourself

If you’re curious about:

AI-driven self-reflection tools

Creative uses of LLMs

Or just tarot with a deeper twist

👉 Try the AI Tarot Reading here:
https://www.randomtarotcard.org/ai-tarot-reading

💬 Feedback Welcome

I’d love to hear thoughts from the dev.to community:

Does this feel meaningful or gimmicky?

How would you improve an AI introspection tool?

Any ideas for deeper emotional or UX layers?

Thanks for reading — and may your next question be better than your last ✨

🧩 Building a Theme-Focused AI Character Generator: Zootopia OC Maker

When experimenting with AI image generation, I noticed most tools are very general-purpose. They work well, but often struggle to stay consistent within a specific fictional universe or visual style.

So I decided to try something more focused.

I built Zootopia OC Maker, a small AI-powered tool designed specifically for creating original characters inspired by the Zootopia universe.

🔗 Live demo:
https://aiocmaker.com/oc-maker/zootopia-oc-maker

🎯 Why a zootopia OC maker?

Instead of asking users to write long, complex prompts every time, the idea was to bake style constraints and world rules directly into the generator:

Animal-only characters

Consistent proportions and expressive faces

City-based roles (police, civilians, performers, reporters, etc.)

Visual tone inspired by Zootopia, while keeping all outputs original

This approach reduces prompt friction and helps users get usable results faster.

🛠️ How it works (high level)

From a technical perspective, the tool focuses on:

Prompt templating with structured character inputs (species, job, personality, setting)

Style conditioning to keep a consistent animation look

Guardrails to avoid generating copyrighted characters directly

Iterative generation so users can refine results instead of starting over

The goal wasn’t to replace general AI art tools, but to explore how narrowly scoped creative tools can improve UX.

👥 Who is it for?

Writers working on fan fiction or world-building

Artists exploring character concepts

Roleplay communities

Developers curious about AI + creative tooling

Even non-artists can describe an idea and get something visually coherent.

🚀 What I learned

Building Zootopia OC Maker reinforced a few things for me:

Constraints can actually improve creativity

Narrow tools often feel more “magical” than general ones

Many users prefer guided inputs over blank prompt boxes

Free Z-Image: A Fast, Creator-Friendly AI Image Generator for Devs, Designers & Indie Builders

Hi everyone! 👋
I recently launched Z-Image, a free and lightweight AI image generator designed for developers, indie game creators, designers, and anyone who needs fast, high-quality visuals without subscriptions or complex workflows.

👉 Try it here (free): https://aiocmaker.com/z-image

🚀 Why I Built It

Most image generators fall into two extremes:

Heavy platforms with paywalls and subscription friction

Free tools with slow performance or poor output quality

As someone building tools for game/anime creators, I needed something that was:

Fast

Clean

Easy to iterate with

Supports modern models

Free for basic use

So I built Z-Image as a simple, developer-friendly alternative.

🎨 What Z-Image Can Do
✔ Text-to-Image Generation (Free)

Generate images instantly — no login, no credits.

✔ Multiple Model Choices

Optimized for:

Anime & stylized art

Game characters

Portraits

Concept scenes

Product-like shots

✔ Developer-Friendly UX

A minimal UI that doesn’t get in your way.

✔ Useful Aspect Ratios

Predefined ratios for:

Square (1:1)

Portrait

Landscape

Game asset formats

If you’re prototyping a game or building UI assets, this helps a lot.

🧩 Tech Behind It

Z-Image runs on a hybrid backend using optimized open-source models and GPU scaling.
The goal is simple: keep it fast, accessible, and free to start.

🛣 Roadmap

Planned additions:

Image-to-Image / variations

Background removal & editing

Custom style training

A simple API for developers

Prompt templates for game/anime workflows

🔗 Try It Free

If you test it, I’d love your feedback: model quality, UX suggestions, or feature ideas.
Thanks for reading — and happy creating! 🎉

If you'd like, I can also write a shorter version, a more technical one, or a version targeting indie game devs specifically.

🎯 Solve Wordle Smarter with WordleBot: Wordle Calcle & Analyzer

If you're tired of guessing blindly in Wordle, meet WordleBot — a free, web-based Wordle calcle & analyzer that helps you turn color clues into your next best guess.

👉 Try it now: wordlebot.net

WordleBot
+1

What Is “Wordle Calcle” Anyway?

“Wordle calcle” is a shorthand for “Wordle calculator / solver” — a tool that helps you analyze your guesses (greens, yellows, and grays) and then suggests possible solution words. WordleBot’s version of “wordle calcle” runs in real time as you input your feedback, filtering words and scoring them by probability.

WordleBot
+1

WordleBot also includes features beyond just raw calculation:

Intelligent recommendations based on current guess patterns

Probability scoring to help you see which candidate words are most likely

Smart filtering to eliminate impossible words

Support for hard mode logic (strict adherence to clues)

WordleBot
+1

Why Use WordleBot / Wordle Calcle?

Solve Faster
Rather than wandering through guesses, the tool narrows your options. Each suggestion is more targeted to reduce the remaining candidates.

Improve Strategy
You learn by observing which words are optimal in different clue-scenarios. Over time, you’ll internalize strategies that you can use without the tool.

Boost Your Win Rate
With probability analysis and smart filtering, you’ll avoid dead-end guesses and make more efficient moves.

Easy & Free
No installation, no login — just open the site, enter your clue information, and get immediate guidance.
WordleBot

How to Use WordleBot (Wordle Calcle)

Play Wordle normally.

After each guess, enter your guess and mark each letter as Correct / Present / Absent (usually green, yellow, gray).
WordleBot
+1

Click Calculate (or the equivalent) and see a ranked list of possible next guesses.

Pick the one you like; repeat until you solve Wordle.

Want to try a harder challenge? Toggle “Hard Mode” in the tool so that every new guess strictly honors earlier clues.
WordleBot

A Word of Advice (for Purists & Competitors)

If you're the type who enjoys solving Wordle entirely on your own, using a solver might feel like “cheating.” But many users treat WordleBot as a learning tool — a way to speed up and refine their strategy, not replace it.

And if you like competition, you can still challenge yourself by:

Using the tool only after your first guess

Trying to beat the solver’s recommended number of guesses

Or just using it for analysis after you finish your attempt

Give It a Spin

Ready to see how far a little algorithmic insight can take you? Visit wordlebot.net
and try the Wordle calcle / Wordle analyzer now.

With smarter guesses and optimal patterns, you just might shave a guess or two off your solve time — and get even better over time.

What Is RandomTarotCard.org?

A one-click tarot draw: click (or tap) and a card appears

Interpretations based on classic tarot traditions

Many users use it for things like:

Decision support (when you want to “ask the cards”)

Learning tarot interpretations by seeing random cards over time

A fun, mystical break in your day

The site already uses the Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) deck imagery (public domain), with custom interpretations inspired by traditional sources.
Create Unique Original Characters in Minutes with AI OC Maker

Have you ever wanted to bring your story’s characters to life visually—but got stuck between writing descriptions and hiring an artist? That gap is exactly what AI OC Maker aims to close.

AI OC Maker is an AI-powered platform that helps creators, writers, game developers, and artists generate original characters (OCs)—complete with visual style, backstories, traits, and more—all with just a few inputs.

🎯 What You Can Do with AI OC Maker

Here’s how it works in four simple steps:

Describe Your Character — Input personality, appearance, or style traits.

Choose an Art Style — Pick from anime, realistic, fantasy, or mix & match.

Generate & Refine — Let the AI produce multiple variations, then tweak till you're satisfied.

Download & Use — Export your character visuals and profile sheets.

AI OC Maker

Some highlights:

Multiple visual styles — Choose from anime, realistic, fantasy, cartoon, etc.

AI OC Maker

Character sheets & metadata — You get not only images, but personality, backstory, and traits.

AI OC Maker

High-resolution downloads — Use in comics, games, writing projects, concept art, etc.

AI OC Maker

Batch generation — Explore many variants quickly to inspire or iterate.

AI OC Maker

💡 Why AI OC Maker Stands Out (and Why You’ll Love It)

Save creative time — Instead of spending hours sketching or commissioning concept art, you get solid starting points in minutes.

AI OC Maker

Bridge between writer & artist — Even if you're not artistically trained, you can get visual reference material to complement stories or games.

Iterative design — The AI doesn’t lock you into one version. You can refine, remix, and customize until it fits your vision.

AI OC Maker

Inspiration booster — Generating many alternatives might spark ideas you never considered.

🛠 Use Cases You Might Love

Novelists or comic writers visualizing main characters

Game developers prototyping NPCs or playable characters

Artists seeking concept prompts or style mashups

Storytellers designing world inhabitants or side characters

🚀 Try It Now — No Design Skills Needed

Get started right away at aiocmaker.com
— describe your character, pick a style, and see what the AI generates.
You might find your next favorite character idea faster than you expect.

If you like, I can also help you write a more technical follow-up (showing how the AI model works, the training approach, your architecture, or integration APIs) to appeal to developers. Do you want me to draft that next?

How We're Using Next.js to Help AI-Generated Characters Get Discovered

Hello devs! 👋

We recently launched AIOCMaker, a platform focused on a cool niche: helping users create and share rich, original AI characters. Think of it as a home for your next AI-powered OC, with profiles, stories, and dialogues.

Instead of just a launch post, we wanted to break down how we built it — especially how we tackled the unique SEO challenge of making thousands of user-generated character profiles discoverable on Google. After all, what's the point of creating an amazing character if no one can find it?

🧩 Our Stack: Chosen for Speed and Scale
Frontend: Next.js 14 (App Router)

Backend & Database: Supabase

Styling: Tailwind CSS

AI: Integrated multiple LLM APIs for character generation

Auth: Google OAuth via Supabase (so easy!)

Deployment: Vercel (a no-brainer for Next.js)

This combo was incredible for development speed. Supabase instantly gave us a real-time PostgreSQL database for user data, character profiles, and the "public" visibility toggle, all with a fantastic JS client.

⚡️ The Big Challenge: Dynamic Profiles & SEO
For a platform where every character has its own detailed profile page, traditional static generation isn't enough. We have no idea what characters users will create, so we can't build all pages at deploy time. Our core question was: How do we make these dynamic, user-generated pages rank well on Google?

The answer lay in leveraging Next.js's Server-Side Rendering (SSR) and Dynamic Metadata for our dynamic routes.

Here’s the flow:

A user creates their unique AI character, complete with a name, biography, personality traits, and generated artwork. This data is saved to our Supabase characters table.

They can choose to "Publish" their character. This flips an is_public boolean flag in the database. Unpublished characters are private and return 404.

Each public character gets its own permanent, shareable URL (e.g., gallery).

The magic happens in our dynamic route file (/app/character/[id]/page.tsx)

Key Takeaways for Your Projects
Design for Discovery from Day One: Don't bolt SEO on later. Think about how every dynamic piece of content will be found. A simple is_public flag is a powerful pattern.

Next.js App Router is an SEO Powerhouse: The ability to use generateMetadata and async Server Components for dynamic content is a game-changer compared to older client-side rendering methods.

Supabase is a Backend Superpower: It handled auth, database, and real-time functionality, letting us focus on the unique value of our product instead of backend boilerplate.

We're really proud of how this turned out and would love for you to see it in action.

Explore some public characters on AIOCMaker: https://aiocmaker.com/

We'd love your feedback! How would you approach this? What's your stack for building discoverable, user-generated content platforms?

As a programmer whose "mother tongue" is C++, I found myself exploring new opportunities due to the limited job market. Two weeks ago, I decided to dive into Next.js development using Cursor, despite having little experience with it. The result? My first website: Random Tarot Card.

Along the way, I learned some valuable lessons:

Plan with AI first – Before jumping into Cursor, I should have used DeepSeek to outline a clearer approach.

Start small – The first version doesn’t need to be perfect. With Cursor, it’s better to tackle one feature at a time.

Avoid over-scoping – I initially planned support for 11 languages, which caused unnecessary back-and-forth with Cursor. English alone would’ve sufficed for V1.

SEO-driven demand – My target site gets 160K monthly users and has Google sitelinks, but my initial demand research was only about 60% accurate.

Skip default landing pages – After buying a domain, don’t just leave the default page up—launch something simple ASAP.

Collaborate & improve – If anyone has similar experience, let’s exchange ideas! I’ll share more insights as I refine the project.

Would love to hear your thoughts—especially from fellow devs transitioning between languages or building small SEO tools!
