Absolutely, let's structure your post for clarity and conciseness

👋 Calling Open Source Developers! Join Thea AI Therapist Project!

Hello, fellow open source enthusiasts! 👩‍💻👨‍💻 I'm working on an AI therapist that utilizes locally crafted datasets tailored for different moods. Currently, it recognizes emotions like:

😄 Happy

😢 Sad

😡 Angry

😔 Depressed

What I Need Help With:

Front-end Character Design: Create a character with two simple animations – idle and talking. Get creative and design it as you please!

Expand Datasets: Assist in adding more responses and trigger words to improve accuracy. Your input will enhance the AI's performance.

Default Text Dataset: Contribute to a general dataset for situations where the algorithm can't detect a specific emotion.

Feel free to jump in, contribute, and shape the future of AI-driven therapy! Explore the project: Thea AI Therapist GitHub

Let's make Thea the best it can be together! 🌟

🌟 #DEVImpact2023 Reflections

  Proud Moments

I'm proud of my journey in learning Python, C, HTML, and CSS. I created my own website to showcase my skills, projects, and community interactions. Additionally, I developed a personal assistant that operates through voice commands.

  DEV Contributions

While I haven't made many contributions, one of my articles gained popularity on DEV: Best way to learn a programming language.

  Brilliant Fails

A notable failure includes my personal assistant named Eva and a project that underwent multiple revisions before finally achieving a breakthrough. The project involves a therapist running on a custom dataset that I created. You can find it here.

  Celebrate the Numbers

      devto-wrapped.sliplane.app

  Future Goals

By the end of 2024, I aim to learn C++ and develop a game. I also plan to complete my three major projects:

Website

Eva

Thea

What Does DEV Mean to You?

DEV is the platform I rely on for information in the tech industry. It's where I learn, share my knowledge, document my journey, and connect with like-minded individuals.

Best way to learn a programming language

We all have at least one thought of learning to code. But many give up shortly because when you search "how to code" or "how to learn to code," you get so many videos and resources that it can get somewhat overwhelming.

Choosing a Learning Path

If you're interested in front-end development, you can check out ASAP Frontend. If you're interested in back-end development, or both, I would recommend FreeCodeCamp.

Breaking Away from Tutorial Hell

Recently, I started learning C and was able to code a tip calculator with user input and if statements. This was challenging due to the fact that C is a low-level programming language, meaning it takes more lines of code to do the same thing that may take one or two lines in a high-level programming language like Python.

To overcome this challenge, I used a study method called "blurting". Originally designed for memorizing text, blurring involves reading a page of code and trying to rewrite the entire page just from memory. Repeat this process until you can master it.

Blurting is also a way to get out of tutorial hell. After watching a tutorial, try to program the code without the video. Repeat this process until you can rewrite the entire program without the help of the video. You can also time yourself to track your progress. For example, I managed to recode the entire code from scratch within 24 minutes, 17 seconds, and 20 milliseconds. You can view the code here

Additional Tips

Practice regularly. Make coding a daily habit, even if it's just for a few minutes a day. The more you practice, the more comfortable you'll get with the concepts.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. There are many online communities and forums where you can ask questions and get help from other programmers.

Don't give up. Learning to code can be challenging, but it's also very rewarding. Don't give up on your goal of becoming a programmer.

I hope this helps!

hey, this is my first article. this is for people the what to start out in the fantastic world of coding but don't know where to start. I am making it for people like me when I started out on Jan 1 2023 I watched some tutorials and made some toy projects to get familiar with the language you can find it hear. if you already know what you want to do go to roadmap.sh. find YouTubers according to what you want to become. make a Twitter account to keep up with new changes to the tech industry and the same for Discord and Reddit by actively can contributing to open source and to the coding/development/programming community
to sum up I would like to say:
be on Twitter, Reddit & Discord
make some fun project that you want to make not what people say will improve your resume or CV. That is something you do when you know what you are doing
contribute to open source it can be as little as a spelling error in the docs
and most important of all have fun coding
check my website and look at my Python portfolio
happy coding
