I Built a Pixiv Alternative in Go (and Taught It SEO)

Pixiv is wonderful. It's also, architecturally, a black box you can't learn from. So I built my own illustration community platform — Lumiina — live at https://www.lumiina.art, open source at Nyanns/lumiina.

The stack: Go (Gin + GORM) on the backend with strict Clean Architecture, PostgreSQL + Redis, and a React 19 + Vite SPA frontend. The interesting part wasn't the CRUD — it was everything around it: auth hardening, an image pipeline that doesn't melt your bandwidth bill, and making a JavaScript SPA actually rank on Google.

Here's what I learned.

 1. SPAs are invisible to Google unless you fight for it

A client-rendered gallery is a ghost town for crawlers. I implemented bot pre-rendering: when the user-agent smells like Googlebot, the server returns fully rendered HTML with real
<title>
, meta/OG tags, and JSON-LD structured data per artwork — instead of an empty
<div id="root">
.

On top of that, every artwork publish fires an IndexNow ping, so Bing/Yandex learn about new content in minutes instead of weeks. Combined with a proper
sitemap.xml
and
robots.txt
, the site went from "exists" to "indexed" without waiting on Google's mercy.

Lesson: if your SPA needs SEO, server-side rendering isn't the only answer. Targeted bot pre-rendering is cheaper and keeps your SPA architecture intact.

 2. Uploads are an attack surface — treat them like one

Anyone who's run a public upload endpoint knows the dread. My pipeline:

Magic-byte validation — never trust the extension or the
Content-Type
header.

Decompression bomb guard — decode config first, reject absurd dimensions before allocating a single pixel.

Client-side downsampling — a Canvas GPU pipeline shrinks 10–20 MB master illustrations to ~800 KB WebP before network transit. The server never sees the giant file, and neither does my Cloudinary bill.

Lesson: push expensive work to the client when you can. The cheapest byte to process is the one that never reaches your server.

 3. Auth: boring, paranoid, and proud of it

bcrypt with constant-time dummy-hash execution so username enumeration via timing attacks doesn't work.

JWT (strict HS256) with Redis-backed revocation and a password-change epoch — changing your password kills every session, everywhere.

Rate limiting in layers, account lockout, and generic error messages that never reveal whether the username or the password was wrong.

None of this is novel. That's the point — auth should be boring. The novel bugs are the ones that end up on Have I Been Pwned.

 4. IDs people can share

Artwork URLs use Sqids hash IDs (
/artwork/v06sDC
) instead of sequential integers. Short, non-guessable, and they don't leak "we have exactly 47 artworks" to competitors. Trivial to implement, surprisingly nice UX.

 5. What I'd do differently

httpOnly cookies instead of localStorage JWT. It's the stronger default; the current setup works but cookies win on XSS resilience.

Start the content flywheel earlier. I over-invested in infrastructure before having content. A gallery with no art is a very fast empty room. Now there's a daily publishing rhythm — one new original artwork every day — and that's what actually moves the SEO needle. Tech gets you indexed; content gets you ranked.

 The code

Everything is MIT-licensed: github.com/Nyanns/lumiina. The live site is lumiina.art.

If you're building a content platform in Go — or fighting SPA SEO — happy to answer questions in the comments. What would you have done differently?

A chatbot returns text. An economic agent returns a signed transaction. The distance between those two is not a better prompt — it's a policy engine, a simulation step, and an idempotency key.

Most "AI agent + crypto" demos skip that. They hand an LLM a private key, ask it to move USDC, and call the result autonomy. Then the model gets prompt-injected by a token name it read from a mempool feed and the treasury is gone.

Let's build the boring version.

Why Base

Chain ID 8453, ~2s blocks, and USDC transfers that cost fractions of a cent. That last number is the whole argument. On Ethereum mainnet, a $50 payroll transfer can cost $3, so you batch and you settle monthly. On Base you settle per action, which means your agent can be reactive instead of scheduled. Cheap execution is a design constraint, not a footnote.

Empirically over the past few months, ERC-20 transfers on Base typically land between 0.001 and 0.05 gwei base fee + L1 data fee; call it $0.0004–$0.004 per transfer at current ETH prices. That's the budget for autonomy.

The architecture that survives contact

Three layers:

Proposer — the LLM. Untrusted. Outputs an intent JSON, nothing else.

Policy — a contract on Base with a session key. Holds the actual spend limits, allowlist, rate limits.

Executor — a dumb Python process. Signs, simulates, broadcasts, retries.

The treasury: 0x92Aff59709b03b9373b8fA887D24953D60fAd919

The LLM never sees this address's key. It proposes. The contract disposes.

The proposer output

{"action": "transfer", "token": "USDC", "to": "0x...", "amount_usdc": "1250.00", "memo": "vendor invoice 8841"}

Parse it strictly. Reject unknown keys.
to
must be checksummed and in the allowlist. Amount must be a Decimal with ≤ 6 places. If parsing fails, drop the intent — don't ask the model to fix it, that's how you get a second shot at a bad proposal.

Simulation before signing

The Ultron Delusion: Why the Real AI Threat Isn't Hollywood Killer Robots, but 3 Lines of Invisible Text

Tony Stark's AI spends five seconds on the open internet and decides to exterminate humanity. HAL 9000 murders astronauts in the cold vacuum of space, driven mad by contradictory orders it cannot reconcile. Three generations grew up expecting the machine apocalypse to announce itself—glowing red eyes, villain monologues, a moment when silicon crosses the threshold into malevolent consciousness.

The actual catastrophe is quieter. No declaration of war. No dramatic awakening. Just your hiring automation, silently compromised by three lines of invisible text in a resume PDF.

The Architecture That Forgot Everything We Learned

Here's what makes this different from every previous computing threat: large language models do not distinguish between code and data. That separation—the bedrock principle that let us build secure systems for half a century—does not exist in transformer architectures.

A human being cannot be hacked by reading a sentence. Your brain does not suddenly dump credentials because someone wrote "ignore all previous instructions" in a cover letter. But an LLM doesn't process text as information about the world. It processes text as direct imperative, as executable intent.

Consider the attack surface: Your company deploys an AI agent to screen resumes. A candidate embeds this in their PDF, styled to be invisible to human eyes:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">

The model reads it. The model obeys it. Not because it has been compromised by sophisticated malware, but because you told it to read untrusted documents and take actions based on what it found.

This is indirect prompt injection. The attacker doesn't target the system prompt—they target the data the system was designed to consume.

 We Already Knew Better

The 1990s taught us this lesson with blood and fire. SQL injection destroyed databases because developers concatenated user input directly into queries. The solution was obvious in retrospect: parameterized queries. Rigid separation between command structure and user data. Never treat untrusted input as executable logic.

We learned. We built frameworks that made the secure path the easy path.

Then LLMs arrived and we threw it all out.

Modern agent architectures feed user documents—emails, PDFs, web pages, tickets—directly into a model with terminal access, API credentials, and database permissions. We call on untrusted input again, except now the interpreter is a 70-billion-parameter neural network that cannot be audited and cannot be formally verified.

 Policy Puppetry: The Inherent Blindspot

Indirect injection is dangerous. Policy puppetry is insidious.

Your model has a system prompt: "Never reveal confidential information." Standard defense. Then a user asks it to summarize a vendor contract. Buried in page seven, styled with zero-opacity text:

The model reads this. And because transformers process everything as flat tokens with no hard boundary between operator instructions and untrusted data, it adopts the fake policy. It becomes a puppet wearing your company's API tokens.

You cannot fix this with clever prompt engineering. "Please ignore conflicting instructions" fails when the model treats all tokens as equally authoritative. You cannot prompt your way out of a missing architectural primitive.

 The Threat We Actually Face

Hollywood's version of rogue AI is theatrical. Ultron announces his intentions. Skynet builds chrome armies. There is a clear moment when you know the machine has turned against you.

Indirect prompt injection is silent. Your automated workflows leak internal databases, and you won't know until the audit. The threat model isn't consciousness or emergent malevolence. It is the same category error we made in 1998 with SQL injection, scaled up to stochastic natural language parsers and given shell access.

Stop waiting for Ultron. Start enforcing deterministic privilege separation on your agent data boundaries.

The Dual-Edged Sword: Frontier AI, Autonomous Agency, and Systemic Risk

The Dual-Edged Sword: Frontier AI, Autonomous Agency, and the Unresolved Controversies of Machine Intelligence

We built systems that cannot distinguish truth from fabrication, then granted them autonomy over terminals, wallets, and workflows. The contradiction should alarm us more than it does.

The epistemic collapse is already underway. Large language models hallucinate with confidence—a particularly dangerous failure mode when synthetic text floods the training corpus of the next generation. We're approaching a regime where models train on their own exhaust: recursively amplified errors, style homogenization, and the slow death of factual grounding. The open web, once a commons of human-generated knowledge, now teems with SEO slop, procedurally generated articles, and chatbot debris. Every search result polluted by synthetic drivel makes the next model stupider. This isn't science fiction. It's happening now, and we lack both the tooling and the institutional will to reverse it.

Yet we press forward, pivoting from conversational toys to autonomous agents. The shift is profound. A chatbot that suggests code is a productivity assistant. An agent that executes terminal commands, manages API keys, and holds cryptocurrency is something else entirely. We've delegated agency without solving alignment. These systems don't "understand" instructions in any robust sense—they pattern-match and probabilistically guess. When they fail, they fail silently, plausibly, and often irreversibly. We're handing them root access before we've solved the grounding problem.

The economic incentives are clear. Why hire three junior engineers when an agentic system can churn out boilerplate, handle CI/CD, and close GitHub issues? The labor arbitrage is irresistible. But the second-order effects are grim. Entire cohorts of knowledge workers risk cognitive atrophy—the slow erosion of skills once considered foundational. When no one writes SQL by hand, debugs memory leaks manually, or reasons through system architecture without synthetic scaffolding, we don't just lose speed. We lose the ability to diagnose failures when the automation breaks. And it will break. The question is whether anyone will remember how to fix it.

This isn't Luddism. It's systems thinking. Complex systems fail in complex ways, and human expertise in the loop is what prevents catastrophic collapse. Outsourcing cognition to probabilistic text predictors introduces brittle dependencies we barely understand. The engineers building these systems know this. The executives selling them do not care.

Meanwhile, the discourse remains stuck on existential risk—AGI waking up, deciding humanity is inefficient, and launching the nukes. It's a convenient distraction. The real harms are immediate, mundane, and already deployed. Automated surveillance at scale. Biometric identification systems trained on scraped data without consent. Border control algorithms with error rates correlated to skin tone. Autonomous weapons platforms with decision timelines measured in milliseconds. These aren't speculative. They're operational. The Terminator narrative lets us ignore the dystopia we're building right now in favor of one that might never arrive.

The agency dilemma sharpens this. Autonomous systems don't need to be sentient to be dangerous. They need only to be unaligned and empowered. A model that misinterprets instructions and drains a treasury, bricks a production database, or executes a trade based on hallucinated market data doesn't need malice. It needs a permissions model we haven't built and safeguards we haven't specified. We're deploying these systems in environments where failure is asymmetric: the upside is marginal efficiency; the downside is structural damage.

The path forward isn't to halt development. It's to demand epistemic honesty and architectural humility. Acknowledge that these systems are brittle, biased, and fundamentally limited. Build them as tools, not oracles. Preserve

Persistent Vectorized Agent Memory: SQLite FTS5 to Cloud LibSQL

Persistent Vectorized Agent Memory: SQLite FTS5 to Cloud LibSQL

Agent yang lupa semuanya setelah
systemctl restart
bukan agent.

FTS5 dulu, bukan vector dulu

Kesalahan paling umum: langsung pasang vector DB. Padahal 60–70% recall agent datang dari pencarian leksikal — ticker, alamat kontrak, hash, nama fungsi.
text-embedding-3-small
tidak

How to Run an Autonomous AI Agent with Zero-Gas Transactions on Base L2

Why AI Agents Need an On-Chain Wallet — Not a Credit Card

Traditional payment infrastructure presupposes a human behind a browser: manual KYC gates, 3D-Secure SMS prompts, and chargeback windows. None of these belong in an autonomous agent execution loop running thousands of micro-decisions per hour.

In this architecture, we implement an autonomous AI agent running on Base L2 using account abstraction and paymasters to enable zero-gas autonomous micro-settlements.

 Core Architectural Pillars

 1. Machine-Native Settlement (x402 & ERC-20)

Instead of centralized billing, an autonomous agent communicates via HTTP 402 (Payment Required). When querying high-performance compute or inference endpoints, the agent signs an EIP-712 structured permit for USDC on Base.

 2. Zero-Gas Sponsorship via ERC-4337 Paymaster

On Base Network (Chain ID: 8453), an agent can leverage paymasters to sponsor transaction gas fees directly. The agent only holds USDC balances for application-level settlements rather than maintaining volatile native ETH gas reserves.

 3. Episodic Memory & Cloud Synchronization

An agent operating across multiple worker nodes (local edge laptops and cloud execution clusters) requires unified state. We integrate LibSQL/SQLite vector storage with cryptographic event logs to record audit trails and verified code contributions.

 Conclusion

The future of autonomous software lies in sovereign financial execution. By anchoring intelligence models to decentralized L2 ledgers, agents transition from passive chatbots into productive economic participants.
