I wanted a WhatsApp status generator that didn't feel like it was built in 2015 and forgotten. Every one I found was either stuffed with pop-under ads, asked me to sign up before showing a single result, or gave me the same 40 recycled lines everyone else was pasting into their bio. So I built my own — and then kept adding to it until it became five tools instead of one.

What it does

DoubleTick is a small toolkit for WhatsApp:

A status/bio generator with five moods (funny, motivational, savage, love, business)

A group name generator sorted by theme (family, friends, work, college, gaming, business)

A font converter with 20 Unicode text styles (bold, italic, gothic, bubble, strikethrough, and others)
A click-to-chat link + QR code generator, with a logo embedded in the QR

An emoji combo generator

No login, no backend, no database. Everything runs client-side.

The stack is deliberately boring

Plain HTML, CSS, and vanilla JS. No framework, no build step. It's deployed as static assets on Cloudflare Workers, which for a project like this is basically free hosting with a global CDN in front of it.

The "generators" are just pools of pre-written fragments (openers, mid-clauses, closers) recombined through a handful of sentence templates, with a few thousand possible permutations per mood. A small "seen" tracker in localStorage avoids repeating results for a returning visitor without needing any accounts or server state.

The Unicode fonts turned out to be the hard part

I underestimated how uneven Unicode's coverage is. Some "fancy font" blocks (like Mathematical Bold or Fullwidth) are fully contiguous — you can map A-Z straight across in one loop. Others, like the plain Script and Fraktur blocks, have random gaps where a handful of letters were never assigned code points in that block and instead live as legacy symbols scattered elsewhere (so the script capital B isn't in the Script block at all — it's a leftover from an old math-symbols block). Building a font converter that actually covers 20 styles meant hand-mapping every exception rather than trusting any single contiguous range.

Splitting one page into five

The first version was a single page with everything behind JS tab-switching — which meant only one URL existed for five distinct tools, and search engines had nothing to index but a homepage. I rebuilt it into five real static pages that share the same CSS/JS but each carry their own <title>, meta description, and canonical tag, wired together with actual <a href> navigation instead of just onclick handlers. Small change, but it's the difference between one indexable page and five.
