Week 3: Grinding the basics (Yet again & Stronger)

Introduction

This week was much better, maybe one missed day otherwise constant progress, moved to ~44 "ish" % in the course. Some may call it slow but, for me it's better than "going thermonuclear" then "crashing".

What I learnt?

I learnt the basics of HTML. And from the CSS I already knew some of I built a simple project, nothing fancy just a simple HTML progression, capstone project. As guided by The Odin Project.

What's Next?

I'm honestly liking the progress very much now. And, plan on staying diligent throughout the journey. It will be hard when I get stuck and not being able to solve problems, but I'll stay gritty this time.

Week 3: Got My SSD Delivered, But Progress Is Still Slow

Introduction

This week was a mix of small wins and the reality of slow progress. I finally got my SSD and installed it, but I still have a long way to go in building consistent habits.

What Happened This Week

✅ Got my SSD delivered and installed it myself
✅ Completed the Git section properly (didn’t skip anything even though I knew most of it)
📈 Course progress: 10% → 19%

Honest Reflection

I thought posting weekly would keep me accountable, but changing years of inconsistent habits is proving harder than I expected. There were days I barely opened the course.

Still, I’m proud that I didn’t quit — unlike previous attempts where I would have dropped off by now. That’s progress in itself.

What I’m Doing Differently Now

I’ve realized I need to restructure my routine. The goal for the coming weeks is simple:

Show up every day, even if it’s just for 30–45 minutes.
I’m also going to be tracking my progress more seriously now.
Going from 10–15% to 19% in a week is slow, but it’s not zero.

I believe once the old habits leave my life, I'll be more of a better human overall.

Week 1: Hassles & Tackling Problems

Introduction

Hello, I almost forgot I had to post on the 30th. I probably would have forgotten if I hadn’t checked my calendar last night.
(Yeah, not the best sign right at the start… but I’m not giving up this time.)

What the initials chapters taught me?

So, I started learning from The Odin Project, and I’ll be honest — the first few chapters felt a bit redundant. But I made a decision before starting: I’m not going to skip anything.

Even if something feels basic, I want to build a strong foundation this time instead of rushing ahead and getting stuck later (which has definitely happened before).

And I’m glad I didn’t skip.
The initial chapters on Motivation & Mindset turned out to be surprisingly refreshing. They made me reflect on how I’ve approached learning in the past — and what I’ve been missing.

One word that really stuck with me: grit.

Problems (Hardware Bottlenecks)

So, As guided by The Odin Project I must install WSL or, Linux on Dual boot or, Do Only Linux installation. And, My PC sucks (1 TB HDD, 128 GB SSD) and, I've finally decided to spend ~70%(The prices 😭) of my savings on this 1 TB NVME (M.2 SSD) to replace. Yeah a hassle, but I'll continue the lessons till the SSD arrives! and hope my SSD doesn't give completely under Low space messages.

Starting From Zero — Again

Week 0: Start of New Journey

Hello, This is my first post. It'll be a bit of an unpolished post, so bear with me.

So, I've picked up The Odin Project and, decided to start my journey to become a Web-Developer. After wandering so much around in the "Cliff of Confusion" (As mentioned beautifully Here: First Post @ Odin Project) and, I've finally decided that, I'll share my journey here.

I didn't pick up a Daily posting schedule. But, rather a Weekly schedule, so- I at least have something to say. Because, I'm a slow learner.

I hope this time, I can see this till the end.
