I finally wrote a small script for something I'd been doing by hand every week. Forty minutes to write, about an hour saved every week.

The funny part: I'd known it was automatable for months. What changed wasn't the effort, it was being annoyed enough on a Friday evening.

If a chore has crossed your mind more than twice, that's the sign. The script doesn't need to be good. Mine is forty lines with no error handling and it's still the most useful thing I've written this month.
