Correlating The Book, “Indian Law For A Common Man” With AI

The Indian law is an intricate web of centuries of history that curated the laws in use today, as depicted in the book Indian Law For A Common Man by Sree Krishna Seelam. It presents an interesting parallel to the role of AI in curating knowledge and enhancing the understanding of common folks in regards to complex systems.

Just as the book makes the legal terminology easy for a common citizen, AI has the potential to simplify complex information—including law—into an easily understandable language. Tedious human effort was employed to translate the jargon—but AI, by utilising natural language processing and machine learning algorithms, can easily translate difficult terms and phrases into everyday language, making legal frameworks more accessible to people who are far from the legal background. This aligns with the intention of the book, which aims to hand a comprehensive study of the law to the citizens so that they are aware of their own rights and powers.

AI applications also serve as valuable tools in increasing legal literacy. For instance, legal chatbots or AI-driven platforms, as used by MiddleMen.asia to deliver justice to the underprivileged, can provide answers to common legal queries instantly. Much like MiddleMen’s initiative and the bots and AI they have linked, AI can help in fixing an individual with a relevant lawyer after analysing their situations as per laws. AI can personalise effortlessly.

It’s a chain reaction from here on out: For an AI to personalise, it will need inputs. And after even vague inputs, it will list all the possible domains that a person may want to check out; thus it raises awareness too. Curiosity is a big part in the fight for rights. It is similar to how when one goes onto Google to look up a doubt and comes back with new knowledge about additional things. Prompt answers from AI will churn the brain for more alternatives. Thus, the need to know more will bubble.

There is an interplay between the efficiency of AI and the increase of knowledge. And it lies in judicious use of resources as prompted by a spark of curiosity.

MiddleMen: An AI Firm

MiddleMen is a non-profit organisation that is a part of WeDidIt foundation, which is an NGO; both of them were founded by the same person, Sree Krishna Seelam. Whereas WeDidIt focuses on developing, or rather invoking, a sense of humanity in humans, MiddleMen works on delivering justice.

The noticeable factor about the latter is that it makes judicious use of AI for the good of the greater population. The world has become highly material, and it continues to do so with every passing second. In the midst of this hungry greed, MiddleMen is a hero by making its legal services and assistance affordable.

It’s a completely online firm. Different types of AIs are involved in the working efficiency of the platform—for instance:

Lexum: To find one’s legal data

AI Lawyer: A legal assistant

Ferret.ai: Research companion

DoNotPay: AI consumer champion

They make full use of the digital platform to ensure customer satisfaction. Its salient features are:

Case Tracking: Clients can monitor their case status with the interactive dashboard, and this also ensures complete transparency.

Lawyer Matchmaking: The clients are matched with relevant lawyers, as per the requirement of the case and specialisation of the lawyer.

Affordable Fees: A nominal fee of Rs. 500 for both the client and the lawyer.

Justice is not equal if only the rich can buy their way to justice. Justice is only equal if even the poorest of the poor get their cases solved with as much importance.

WeDidIt: Relating An NGO With the Digital Era

WeDidIt is an NGO that was founded by Sree Krishna Seelam in the year 2020. The year when the pandemic was thriving and people were not. The year when the efficiency of the digital platforms was tested and potentials maximised.

The organisation started off with only a couple of volunteers, barely six or seven people; the journey started at a college in Vijayawada. And in 2024, that is four years later, it has given purpose to thousands of volunteers.

In a world where many human beings have become “human-doings,” caught up in the ruthless advancing pace of modern life, WeDidIt’s mission resonates with a greater purpose. The digital platforms serve as the perfect connecting tools. Volunteering through online platforms not only provides an opportunity for individuals to rekindle their sense of humanity but also fosters a sense of belonging and community. It believes that volunteering is the first step to unlock the doors of humanitarian efforts.

Volunteering doesn’t simply mean physical presence anymore; volunteering can be done from home. For instance, writing content on issues in order to propel the narrative of the organisation further. The more far-reaching the content, the more the agenda spreads. Tagging posts appropriately prompts the algorithm to deliver them to the target audiences.

Humans and machines are companions if the efforts are optimised. What would not have been possible if left in the hands of the legal authorities was made possible with WeDidIt and their judicious use of resources. They managed to deliver justice to an elderly woman in just a couple of days thanks to human efforts—convincing and looking after the victim who was abandoned by her own son; and machine efforts—distributing online petitions.

Correlating "5 Killer Habits: Be A Rebel," A Self-Help Book With AI

5 Killer Habits: Be a Rebel is a self-help book by Sree Krishna Seelam, who is also the founder of an NGO called WeDidIt. Most of his books are available online as a free ebook—the digital platforms play a big role in the distribution of intent in the digital age.

Correlation as per the chapter titles in the book:

Arise, Awake & Kickass
Key Takeaway: The brain functions better in the early morning, and establishing discipline through time management optimizes mental output.

Connection with AI:
AI optimises productivity: Just as people can optimise their productivity by managing their time effectively, AI systems can also be programmed to work efficiently. Algorithms can be optimised to run during break hours or during off-time to utilize computing resources more effectively, creating a more efficient process.

Be A Hero
Key Takeaway: Volunteering fosters spiritual satisfaction and spreads joy through a humanistic approach to life

Connection with AI:
AI is purpose-driven: AI applications are designed to minimise the load on the human workers; anything that a person can do in a few hours, AI can do in a few minutes. Its purpose is to create less stress for its users. AI technologies also focus on social good—like healthcare solutions, educational tools, and platforms supporting volunteers, thus fostering a sense of community and purpose.

Become A Dromomaniac
Key Takeaway: Solo trips cultivate physical and mental independence along with valuable cultural exchange.

Connection with AI:
AI can personalise: AI can suggest travel experiences, recommend destinations based on independent preferences and cultural interests. And AI translators are a life-saviour in a foreign land where there’s a language barrier. This further facilitates a better cultural exchange.

Live A Hundred Lives
Key Takeaway: Reading helps a person develop critical thinking and is the food for thought.

Connection with AI:
Analyzing data: Just as the purpose of reading is to analyse it for something, AI can analyse large datasets to identify trends in human behavior, which further helps societies understand differences in culture and reduce polarization. Since prompt analysis is a key feature, AI can enhance learning by providing access to relevant resources in a field as per requests, thus improving knowledge.

Stay Curious
Key Takeaway: Asking “why”; questions must be targeted at the intentions, not the actions.

Connection with AI:
Increases credibility: Encouraging a culture of questioning in AI development leads to more responsible and ethical AI systems. By investigating the intent behind actions taken by AI we can improve system transparency. The increase in content being stolen from artists is raising questions behind the intent and usage of AI.
