I got tired of digging through folders every time I wanted to switch back to one of my VS Code projects.

So I built Workspace Jumper. 🚀

It's a VS Code extension that lets you save your workspaces and jump between them quickly, without hunting through your filesystem.

What it does

• ⚡ Quick workspace switching with Ctrl+Alt+W
• 🔄 Automatically remembers your last workspace
• 📚 Workspace history for frequently used projects
• ✏️ Rename, remove, and manage saved workspaces
• 🔒 Protection for workspaces you don't want to open accidentally
• ⚠️ Detects stale workspaces when projects are moved or deleted
• 📌 Activity Bar, Status Bar, and Command Palette access
• 🔐 Completely offline with no telemetry or tracking

Privacy was also important to me.

Workspace paths are encrypted using AES-256-GCM, with encryption keys stored through VS Code's secure SecretStorage API.

There are:

No accounts.
No cloud service.
No analytics.
No network requests.

Just a small tool that does one thing and keeps everything local.

I also added unit tests, linting, type checking, production bundling, and VSIX packaging because I wanted this to be more than just a quick prototype.

The idea is pretty simple:

Instead of:

Find folder → Open folder → Wait → Repeat

You can:

Pick workspace → Jump → Keep working ⚡

I'm planning to keep improving it with workspace groups, better organisation, recently used workspaces, and more keyboard-first workflows.

I'm curious how other developers handle this:

Do you use VS Code's recent workspaces, another extension, bookmarks, or do you just have 47 folders open in Explorer like me? 😂

I built NetForge, an interactive way to learn networking and CCNA

Hi everyone!

I recently took part in a competition where I decided to build something around networking, since I've been learning about CCNA and networking myself.

That’s how NetForge came about.

The idea is pretty simple. I wanted to make learning networking feel a bit more hands-on instead of just reading about routers, switches, IP addresses and routing.

With NetForge, you can work through interactive networking labs and actually build and configure networks using virtual devices.

This is still an early version of the project. I had to stop making major changes while the competition judging is going on, but I definitely don't want to stop here.

After the competition, I want to improve things like the labs, device behaviour, networking simulations, progress tracking and eventually add a proper backend/database.

I'm posting it here because I'd genuinely like some feedback from people who know networking, CCNA, homelabs, or even people who are just starting out.

What would you add? What feels confusing? What would make you actually want to use something like this to learn networking?
