Why I'm Building a QR Code Platform and Sharing the Journey

Hello DEV 👋

Hi everyone!

I'm a solo developer from Madrid, Spain, and I've recently started building OnestQR, a QR code platform focused on one simple idea: software should make people's lives easier, not more complicated.

Over the past few months I've found myself diving into things I never expected to learn—from QR code specifications and edge caching with Cloudflare Workers to PostgreSQL, analytics and user experience.

One thing I've discovered is that QR codes are much more interesting than they first appear. Behind every scan there's routing, caching, performance, security and a surprising number of design decisions.

That's what I want to write about here.

Over the coming weeks I'll be sharing practical articles on topics like:

How dynamic QR codes actually work
Building a fast redirect service with Cloudflare Workers
QR code best practices
Common mistakes when generating QR codes
Analytics and privacy considerations
Lessons learned while building a SaaS as a solo developer

I'm not here to sell anything. I'm here to share what I learn, learn from others, and hopefully contribute something useful to the community.

If you've built anything related to QR codes, caching, PHP, PostgreSQL or SaaS products, I'd love to hear about your experience.

Looking forward to being part of the community! 🚀
