Colors form an integral part of the world we live in. And more often than not, colors can also validate our feelings, emotions, and even taste! They can have a major influence on people’s purchase decisions. Most brands associate themselves with one or more colors; organizations have embraced color psychology as a major driver in their branding strategy. It’s because certain colors carry associations with objects and draw people towards themselves which they tend to feel them. That’s why brand design services also keep colors in their mind while designing a great brand for them.

Designers need to pay detailed attention to the colors they choose while designing a brand. Colour creates contrast, hierarchy, balance & rhythm. Choosing the right color palette is really important as it not only creates interest but also creates an emotional or subconscious connection with the people.

Understanding Colors is Understanding Product

Research shows that 85% of the decision made by users towards choosing a product was because of colors only. Colors carry emotional value. Each color emotes different feelings and perceptions. For instance:

Red communicates energy, power, and passion
Green communicates ambition, growth, freshness, and safety
Blue communicates tranquility, confidence, and intelligence
Yellow communicates happiness, intellect, and energy
Black communicates power, elegance, and mystery
White communicates cleanliness, purity, and perfection

Also, Read | Understanding The Basics Of Color Theory

Choosing the Colors

Now, let us understand the different sets of color principles that make the designer’s life easier. We can look up to the nature of the product when it comes to choosing colors. Also, before going overboard to look for inspiration, first understand the basics of the color wheel. Follow color theory 101 for the diverse ways to pick color sets that work together. It is possible to pick the combination ranging from those that are easy to use till difficult to use. Let’s understand this further below:

Complementary Colors
As the name suggests, these colors are adjacent to each other in the color wheel. They complement each other perfectly. For brands that are trying to communicate reliability and a sense of balance, this color scheme works best. It’s like the color blue says ‘you are beautiful’ to the color orange, which complements its attributes, and vice versa.

Monochromatic Colors
These colors share the hues and tones of a base color. Using the shades of the same color creates harmony and natural sync. Monochromatic color sets are easy to remember. It’s because users can associate these shades with one another and still can remember what brand or product it is.

You might also be interested in – Colors To Avoid In An Ecommerce Design

Analogous Colors

The word analogous means ‘comparable’. Analogous colors refer to the set of colors on the color wheel that are immediately adjacent, i.e. three colors left or right from one of your choosing. As a set, we consider these four colors as analogous colors. We prefer analogous colors when there is a need to create a sense of harmony and contentment for brand design.

Triadic Colors
In this method, we choose colors that are evenly spaced in an equilateral triangle. We select these colors from the wheel in such a way that they provide high contrast and rich vibrancy in design. We do this by picking colors that are equally spaced from one another on the color wheel. For instance, after we pick a specific color on the wheel, we can pick a color that is three colors away on either side. These contrasting colors make for an effective, yet tough to create a palette.

Tetradic Colors
This is a four-color structure that is evenly spaced on the color wheel. This scheme is best suitable if we want to create an accent with colors, i.e. we choose one dominant color and three accents supporting it. This color scheme is similar to triadic, which creates a vibrant and strong palette but is tough to handle.

Tools for Choosing Palettes

Following are the two fantastic web tools for choosing palettes:

Coolors.co
It’s a super easy to use tool. It shows multiple analogous variations of a single hue.

Canva Color Wheel

It’s also a super handy tool for generating random color combinations and choosing the one we want to choose.

Conclusion

To conclude, we hope that those above ways we discussed will assist in building the best color palette for your product. Contact our brand identity design services for more assistance.

Exploring Colors in Web Design Trends

In the growing visual design trends, color has taken a center stage. Colors have great visual strength and expressiveness, which attract users and even designers, who use color as a focal design element. Great designers or custom web designing services put more emphasis on colors than other content elements. They focus on colors even more than images which has the power to communicate more. Gradually, big chunks of color are taking over the traditional white backgrounds. The color palettes are now not limiting to just one dominant tone. Strong contrasts of vibrant complementary colors stand out, not seeking harmony, but visual impact. This is because different contemporary graphic design styles are moving progressively in a repeating cycle.

In this blog post, we will understand the importance of colors and explore different color-trends used in web design trends. So, let’s begin.

Importance of Colors in Web Design

To create a successful website, it is essential to choose an appropriate color combination in the website design process. But most of the web design services often overlook this most important step. According to psychologists, people are susceptible to color impressions on a subconscious level. Also, due to this very reason, around 60% of acceptance or rejection of any website depends on the color. Color choices have this ability to generate a positive or negative impact on a visitor. It can make a visitor stay longer or switch to other options within seconds. Only when a visitor stays longer, can take action and make the website’s end goal meet.

Now let us explore the different color-types that designers are using in the emerging web design trends.

Exploring Different Color-Trends

Vibrant Colors Modulated by Neutrals
After the dominance of “soft pastels”, we are witnessing the emergence of strikingly risky colors and pairings. They may not represent harmony, but are making an impact. They demonstrate a range of vivid colors of differing non-adjacent tones.

The muted or neutral colors soften the combination of vivid colors. This softening assists in directing the user’s attention to where we want them to focus on.

The most important characteristic in this trend of vibrant colors modulated by neutrals is the use of big solid areas of color. It’s also very common in this trend to come across isolated notes of luminous colors that capture attention.

Color-Blocking & Big Solid-Colored Areas

Color-blocking is commonly associated with fashion as a trend. Color-blocking is the exploration of taking bright bold colors that are opposites on the color wheel (or complementary to each other) then pairing them together to make interesting and complementary color combinations. In reality, there’s no need they have to be on exactly opposite sides of the color wheel. But the idea is to watch out for a strong contrast between solid areas of color to find interesting combinations.

More Palette Colors

Create and standardizing a great color palette assists to achieve a visual language. That visual language consistently represents the brand or product in any media. If we look back, traditional color palettes have been much smaller. They consisted of only one or two principal colors. Today, the publication of elaborate design systems have taken the palette even further than it was before (by adding a highlight color and a few neutrals to the principal color of the brand). They have contributed significantly to this trend of the importance of colors.

Multi-Colored Backgrounds

Let’s have an example where it displays a chromatic sequence in the background. It advances with the scroll as it presents the content. It reveals the color palette as we advance through long scrolling. Also, nearly all the cases contain a one-page layout with changing colored backgrounds. The colors group and provide a strong contrast between the background and the contents.

Contrast Using Typography

When we use typography as a graphic element, then it becomes an ideal contrast for colors. That contrast is almost fully independent of the communicative value of the text. The typography on the background creates an alternating high contrast or complementary colors. This eventually, switches in a graceful animation sequences.

Optimistic Pairings
The influence of soft pastels, with the famous Millennial Pink at its lead, is now falling gradually. We began with a range of soft pastels dominated by pinks, but could end up with a loud range of colors. We are already seeing this in many fashion trends.

Experts at the Pantone Color Institute say that the new trend characterizes an extensive color palette with strong multi-colored combinations.

Conclusion

Colors have a profound impact on design. It is essential to consider color carefully in the web design process, and especially with the rising web design trends. Choosing colors we need to use is as important as choosing colors we don’t need to use. Color is one of the most powerful design concepts in the website design process. It can greatly influence how people perceive a web design.

The Ramifications of Bad UX Design | 5 Industrial Examples

Imagine you are working for a company that is building a web-store. They’re going to compete with Amazon. They have an enormous budget for getting their launch right. However, they don’t have so much money that they can afford to relaunch if they get the first attempt badly wrong, and don’t forget, first impressions really do count. It is, therefore, critical for the providers of UX research services to carefully evaluate the competitive landscape and objectives of the business.

In order to compete with Amazon, the company knows that they have to at least match Amazon’s user experience. If they don’t, then people already know, like and trust the Amazon brand (in general terms – there are always exceptions to the rule). Amazon’s sales turnover in 2013 (according to the Daily Beast) was in the order of $65 billion. It has only grown since then. They must be doing something right.

You have been instructed by your boss to ensure that the launch strategy is the right one. You have time, you have a budget, and you have to get your strategy right. You have options when it comes to site design. You could:

Bring in a team of the world’s best designers and throw money at them to design what they want
Bring together a team of excellent UX designers and throw money at them to come up with a website in brainstorming sessions

Or

You could talk to your potential users.

It’s the latter strategy that’s going to get the best results, as long as you approach the “conversation” (that’s what research really is) with your users in the right way. It’s the users that know what they like. They also know what they don’t like about Amazon’s experience; they can identify the weaknesses in Amazon’s design that you can take advantage of. You don’t really want your launch to be “as good” as Amazon’s; you want it to be better.

The only way you can be sure that your user experience is better is through extensive user research. You need to be able to decide what really is needed and what might seem necessary but isn’t.

If you’re not sure that’s true, then let’s look at what happens when the user experience goes wrong for even the biggest names in the industry today:
What Happens When the UX of a Product isn’t users centric?

History is littered with examples of big companies getting their UX wrong and the results weren’t pretty. Let’s examine some of the more notable issues.
The Nokia N-Gage

Nokia’s executives must have thought that this idea was a sure fire winner. There are millions of gamers who carry Sony PSPs and Nintendo DS systems around in their pockets. Then they carry a mobile phone on top.

Windows Mobile

Windows on a mobile phone was a great idea. Its initial execution was terrible. It was ugly and controls, menus, etc. simply didn’t bear any resemblance to the Windows experience on other devices. Windows on the mobile platform has come a long way in the interim. Sadly, for Microsoft, it’s never recovered from the initial hatred it instilled in users. Nokia’s recent sell off of their handset division to Microsoft was caused (at least in part) by dedicating all their resources to two operating systems that had sucky UX – Windows and Symbian. Apple and Android dominate the smartphone space because of the enjoyable user experience.

Macintosh TV

You may think that Apple always has UX on its mind. Well this piece of junk must have been produced on an off-day. It looks like it was built in Soviet Russia. It was a terrible quality television (even back in 1993 when TVs weren’t all that great compared to today’s 3D High-Definition marvels). It was also a poor computer with less power and usability than the existing Macintosh. It died an early death as a result; only 10,000 were made and most of them ended up in a landfill.

Windows Vista

Picking on Microsoft for UX failures is almost too easy. Windows Vista was touted as the perfect replacement for the company’s most popular (ever) operating system Windows XP. It was even designed to run on the same machines as XP. Except, as soon as you installed it you realized that word “badly” should follow “run” in the last sentence.
Summary

User research is the key to user experience. Even the biggest companies in the world get their user experience design wrong. If you want to minimize the chances of getting it wrong – you need to take every precaution to get it right.

Enhancing UX Design with Inspiring Mood Boards

Great design is a reflection of the inspirations and aesthetics found in the real world. It is especially critical for a UX design company to create digital designs using natural and man-made design references. Mood boarding is one such UX research technique to shape digital landscapes by gathering various closely-related design ideas and concepts. The practice enables UX designers to pin down their thoughts and design motivations to creatively build intuitive digital products.

This blog post explores the significance and use-cases of mood boards in the UX design process.

Mood Boards and their Significance in the Design World

Designers use mood boards as a canvas to express a certain design idea in the form of images, fonts, types, etc. The idea is to visualize the final design by capturing inspirations and elements that resonate with a brand’s identity. An ideal mood board includes a collage of graphics, UI features, icons and other items that describe a brand beyond words.

Paul Rand, the logo designer of IBM, UPS, and other global corporates, explains the art of curating designs in the following quote-

“The artist is a collector of things imaginary or real. He accumulates things with the same enthusiasm that a little boy stuffs his pockets. The scrap heap and the museum are embraced with equal curiosity. He takes snapshots, makes notes and records impressions on tablecloths or newspapers, on backs of envelopes or matchbooks. Why one thing and not another is part of the mystery, but he is omnivorous.”

― Paul Rand: A Designer’s Art

Mood boards can be represented in physical as well as digital forms. The display items over a mood board may include sketches, fabrics, color palettes, textures, shapes, typography, and several other design elements.

mood boards ux design services

The primary objective of curating a mood board is to share a common vision of the web interface, product design or a brand’s personality. It streamlines the UX design process by representing a broad outline of the final design.

Here’s how mood boards set the stage for effective digital designs-

1) Establish the Vision

Mood boards serve as tangible catalysts to showcase the research material assimilated by providers of UX research services. It enables the entire design team to establish and share a common vision and goal of the final design. Although mood boards are not as accurate as wireframes or prototypes, they establish the emotional and sensory image of the brand design.

2) Collaborate with Stakeholders

Getting stakeholder buy-in for UX research can be a strenuous task. However, the time and cost-effective attributes of mood boards make them a readily acceptable UX research technique among stakeholders. Moreover, providers of UI UX design services may collaborate with decision-makers to bookmark their requirements before investing in the final design.

Today, various online platforms such as Pinterest and Tumblr serve as dynamic mood boards to curate and share design inspirations. However, professional web design services strongly recommend physical mood boards to create firm impressions of the product’s design.

Different Ways of Mood Boarding

1) Using Photographs and Visuals

While there’s no dearth to the number of pictures that can be used for a mood board, a consistent brand tonality is important. UX designers must curate high-resolution graphics, visual elements, real or vector images, and snapshots that closely represent a product’s designs. Digital mood boards can also hold short videos or gifs to explicitly talk about the idea.

mood boards ui ux design services

2) Scribbling Phrases and Quotations

Words underpin a certain meaning to the images. User research consultants can use contextual phrases or slangs commonly used by the target audience of the product in hand. Write-ups for mood boards can also include taglines, brand values, positioning statements, marketing slogans, and other significant brand quotations.

brand identity mood boards

3) Including Colors, Shades, and Fonts

A definite color palette and typography are the most effective design elements to reflect a brand’s identity. Providers of user experience design services should carefully study a product’s usability and impact to collect similar shades and fonts. Mood boards prove to be an easy tester for scores of shades and fonts. It enables designers, developers, and stakeholders to visualize the final design with a chain of tones and voices.

Websites are indispensable digital tools to market your brand. However, until the 21st century, website development was a far-fetched vision for a majority of businesses. Back in 2003, the combined efforts of Matte Mullenweg and Mike Little empowered businesses to build considerably efficient websites with WordPress. Today, WordPress powers nearly 27%* of all running websites over the internet. Providers of user experience design services use multiple WordPress plugins and design elements to develop responsive and intuitive cross-platform web interfaces.

This blog post highlights 5 effective and buzzing design practices to create engaging WordPress websites.

Understanding the WordPress FrameWork and its Significance

WordPress is an open-source Content Management System (CMS) that enables the development of websites from scratch. The theme-based infrastructure of WordPress provides ready-made website templates for multiple industry businesses such as news portals, hospitals, media, and entertainment.

It is the reason that BBC America, Microsoft news, Bloomberg, and other top corporates opted for a WordPress-based website design.

Below are some significant attributes of WordPress that make it highly effective for developers and designers-

Businesses can easily create, upload, and share a variety of content material such as blogs, graphics, videos, etc.

The USP is that professionals, as well as non-technical practitioners, can easily operate and manage content over WordPress. Features like WYSIWYG, SEO oriented URLs, and Gutenberg editor make WordPress easy to use and customize.

Theme-based designs can be modified to add several design elements such as large backgrounds, bold typography, animation, and microinteractions.

5 WordPress Design Trends that dominate 2019

1) The Art of Minimalism

Minimalism is a design strategy that involves minimum use of graphics, content, navigation, and visual features to build a user interface.

The attributes of a minimalist website include-

a) Minimum features, graphics, and navigation elements

b) A limited color palette with a major shift towards black and white UI

c) Distinct and unconventional use of typography

d) Flat-screen designs with minimum skeuomorphic patterns and textures

e) Maximum use of negative space

Element, Monochrome, Pocket, and Corner are a few minimalists WordPress themes that are most popular among providers of web design services. Minimalist websites focus your audiences’ attention and reduce unnecessary distractions in their way to complete the desired tasks.

minimalist web designs

Many contemporary freelancers and brands such as Ceremony Coffee are readily experimenting with minimalist designs to showcase their services.

2) Mobile-Optimized Websites

The process of creating a seamless cross-device website is no longer laden with endless coding and altered CSS. WordPress version 4.4 comes with in-built support that automatically optimizes your content and images across devices. However, users can manually ensure a responsive infrastructure with plugins such as EWWW Image Optimizer, and WP Smush.

mobile optimized websites

UK based e-commerce web design agency, Big Eye Deer, is one such example of a responsive website based on WordPress. However, business requirements, user needs, and competitive landscape are crucial factors in making the final decision. It is, therefore, critical for providers of mobile app design services to carefully analyze a product’s usability before investing in a WordPress website.

responsive web design services

3) AI-powered User Interactions

In the age of diverse user personas, it is essential for businesses to have a granular understanding of their target audiences’ needs. Users are more accustomed to rely on brands that deliver quality, and in-time services and support. Today, leading providers of UI UX design services are using AI-based tools and techniques to cater to global user needs.

The AI algorithms underlying digital interfaces extract user knowledge and behavior using big data analytics to generate contextual responses. Various WordPress plugins such as WordLift and WatsonFinds analyze different web content and user practices to provide effective optimization tips. Acobot is one of the widely used chatbots for WordPress websites.

wordpress webisie design trends

Algorithimia is another AI-based WordPress plugin that automatically adds image alt texts, detects nudity in uploaded images, and summarizes every post.

4) Video Headers

Video headers are one of the latest web design trends that instantly grab user attention and maximize user engagement. Global businesses such as McKinsey, Vimeo, and Nyetimber use intriguing website video headers to visualize their services and customer relationships. Many WordPress themes such as Vlog, Tides, and FoogoPro are paid mediums to integrate video headers into your WordPress website.

video header

5) Split-Screen Designs

As the name suggests, a split-screen design strategy involves splitting of the web screen into two or more vertical sections. Each section displays different sets of information, images, graphics, etc. Since the beginning of 2019, this trend has been gaining momentum because of its sleek, clean, and organized layout.

There are multiple WordPress themes that support split-screen designs such as Aether, Bridge, Ardon, and Bateaux. However, it is unlikely for large organizations to channelize significant outcomes by using a split-screen web interface design. It makes split-screen a design to be used with great caution and understanding of the business goals.

split screen wordpress website

A Step-by-Step Guide to Understand the Process of UX Design

What is UX Design?

UX design is the process of creating products that provide meaningful and relevant experiences to users or we can say that to solve the problem in the easiest way. Typical UI UX design services involve allocation of design elements to produce intuitive digital interfaces and mobile applications by means of user research and analysis.

The Process of UX Design

It is divided into five categories:

Strategy

Planning about the project. It is used to create an understanding between designers, goals of the product, guiding principles of the project, defining long term goals of the organization, how to measure the success of the product and priority of the things to achieve.

Research

Understanding the problem of the user and get the solution of problems. there are three ways to solve the research through:

(i) Interviews – You are asking questions from the user.

(ii) Observation -You can understand the behavior.

(iii) Survey – It is an easy way to gather a large amount of information about a group.

Analysis

It is the process of measuring the interaction between a user and a user interface, often a website, an application or a design. In this section, you create a Persona, Scenario, Synthesis and Card Sorting.

(i) Persona- It is a representation of a type of customers, their goals, motivations, skills, pain points and needs.

(ii) Scenario – It defines when, where and how the story of the persona takes place. When that goal is reached, the scenario ends.

(iii) Synthesis – Combining the number of different parts or ideas to come up with new data or theory.

(iv) Card Sorting – Categorize data. It is used to understand how users think about the content.

Designing

It is involving input and ideas from different people. These ideas are represented by Workflow, Flow Chart, and Wireframes.

Workflow

It is a process for how a work should be done. It provides a graphic overview of the business process. It is a visual representation of a workflow.

Flow Chart

It ‘s A diagram for describing a process, a step-by-step approach to solve a task. It is used in analyzing, designing, documenting or managing a process in various fields.

Wireframe

Graphic structure of a website or app containing the content and elements. It is used to identify the elements that will be displayed on the screen.

A/B testing

It is another way of learning what actions users take or to enable you to make incremental improvements to your website or app.
Conclusion

In the end, the goal of the UX Process is – solving problems for users, helping them achieve their goals with ease and more than that make them feel delightful while doing so.

Common Design Mistakes to Avoid

Design mistakes are like enemies waiting in the shadows, ready to ambush at a moments notice. No amount of practice can keep them away except for a vigilant eye. While a fresher is most likely to make mistakes at the start of his career, it should be noted that a professional is no exception from making mistakes. The best thing a person can do is to keep their minds open and make a constant effort in ensuring these mistakes don’t ruin your design or the company’s reputation for whom you are designing for. As per the providers of UI UX design services, you should avoid the following mentioned designing mistakes.
Without further a due, here are 9 mistakes that a Designer should avoid-

– Misinterpreting the task

Before the designing process can begin for a client, it is crucial that he understand the client’s needs and wants in the design. It is crucial that you clear all doubts and queries regarding the design with the clients. Failing to do so can lead to ill reputation of your company, multiple tries, waste of time and the client loosing his cool.

Of-course this is an extremely worst case scenario that we took and nowhere are we saying all clients will be like this, however..failing to talk to the client and clarifying your doubts can be problematic.

-Being Monotonous

A designer that fails to deliver conceptual design is one problem, but one that simply carries on with one design pattern (for example- only vector art) can be a problem in the long run. Say for instance a client wishes for a new approach in design and since the designer lacked a new approach towards design, they might face difficulty in appeasing the client’s wants in the first go.

In this case, it is crucial that a designer keeps experimenting, play around with design, try wacky and surreal designs. Focus on delivering creative that leave your client’s jaw dropping (and we mean in a good way).

-Font Clutter

While typography is important in a design and we encourage new and old to experiment. However, one must ensure that a design should not contain more than 3 types of fonts. Using 4-10 different fonts in hopes of making your design stand out may intern lead to readability issues and lack of interest in the reader.

-Bombarding with Elements

When it comes to design, one of the many mistakes a designer tends to make is underestimate the power of simplicity. A design should be simple enough to understand what is happening, rather than bombard it with elements from end to end. Doing this, a design looses it’s appeal and look like a apple pie filled with eggs, turkey and chicken stuffing.

In other words, don’t place so many elements that your reader/viewer is unable to make out what it is all about.

-Over promising to the client

Many times we come across a visual that is so appealing that we think that we can remake this with our style incorporated in it, but requires time & effort. So we present the client with our idea and ask for time in making it. Here is where the trouble starts, the design was so impressive that you understand that the time taken must have been more than you expected. Now you are in a jam, you have promised the client the said time, and are in need to deliver in the said timeline. This is problem 1.

Problem 2 is when you promise a client a design that you were unsure that you could make. Both of these situations are like red flags for a designer. So, don’t over promise.

-Font spacing

Modifying the space between letters can make the wording progressively neat and satisfying to the eye. However, abusing spacing or not giving close consideration to it can cause some serious issues, from misinterpretations to wrecking a Layout structure’s cohesiveness.

-Using Of Stock Images

Ahh yes, the treasure trove of every designer, Stock images! We all love stock images, they are hd in nature and not to mention can sometimes help a designer in a tight jam.

But don’t forget, this treasure trove is available to every designer, meaning that the vector based illustrations one might use, has already been used by another designer in their piece. Which is why, it is crucial that you ensure that the images you use are not always as it is. Make sure to edit them, otherwise the assignment or job for your client may turn out to be low-priced and improper.

-Spelling Errors

Didn’t cross your mind huh?! Well checking for spelling errors is as important as your teacher taught when you were in school! Well jokes apart, it is something a designer must strive not to overlook. Yes, there are copywriters/content writers in a company that could check for spelling errors. However you won’t find anyone helping you in your personal/ freelancing project, or will you?

So it is crucial that every designer makes it habit of not letting the spelling be their undoing.

-Designing as Per Needs

As creative professionals, we all have this affinity to design the way we think would be best, which is not a bad thing as long as you have been asked to exercise creativity. But, if a client has asked you to make a design according to him/her, then you follow it to the end. You do not add in or remove what the client hasn’t asked you for. Remember, client is paying for the design that you make, and as a design professional it is our duty to deliver what he is paying for.

Important Tips to Design List in UI

We often use lists in user interface. so there are some important points which we should always keep in mind when designing list in any user interface. I am going to discuss some points through you can improve your user interface design, moreover these tips are proven by professional user research consultants.

Tips to Design List in UI:

1.) Consistency

Consistency is the first basic thing to keep in mind when using any list in a user interface design. A list, vertical or horizontal is a redundant component with same elements in each list item. The values of items may be different but the layout and design should always be consistent. Because if we use different layouts and designs for each list in a single UI then it will not look proper and elegant also it will be confusing.

2.) Logical

Each and every List should be logical or we can say order should be maintained in each list. It may be ascending or descending. If we take an example of list which consist action done as per date, so we can make a list starting with most recent action and so on or with earliest action. Because a list in proper order is always more understandable than a list in improper order.

3.) Actionable

In a User interface design each list should be actionable. Means the items of the list can also be a link but the values of those items should be in proper order so that user can easily act on that. When we take an example of metadata, spending counts is the best example for this.

4.) Sub-header

If we design a list without sub-headers then the list will look like an abstract data. So for giving it feel of list we should always use sub-header, which should be aligned with left data of the list, and list should be summarized by copy. If we place any sub-header which is aligned with right data then it will act as a counter.

5.) Hover

When we talk about interactions then Hover states tell users that the item in the list is actionable. So for making any item actionable we can use some shadow or we can change the background colour on hover.

6.) Overflow

Lists are not only useful in web applications, they are also very useful in mobile and tablet applications. So we can explore each and every row overflow from an actionable point of view. As we can use left to right or right to left are go to actions.

7.) Keylines

Every list should have keylines which defines the proper spacing and alignment of each element across the list. We should follow the 8 px rule for the spacing and alignment and these should be slowed right down the list.

8.) Padding

In general we should follow the 8px rule for padding. Each row in the list should have the 16px vertical and horizontal padding and the sub-header should have 8pz padding with its respective item.

Conclusion

So these are some basic things which we should always keep in mind while designing any list in a user interface design so that our list can look proper placed and aligned in the design also it will be more understandable.

Understanding the Significance of Customer Experience (CX) Pyramid

According to a Customer Experience Consulting firm, Walker study by 2020, indicates that 86% of the buyers will pay more for a better experience, rather than for a usual one. For future-proof companies, the Customer Experience (CX) is a key differentiator and will play a big role in redefining them. Therefore, providers of UX research services must explore multiple user research methodologies to study and analyze the customer’s needs, expectations, motivations, and preferences.

How would you make your strategy a success? Which key performance Indicators (KPIs) contribute to the perfect experience and how do you measure those?
Definition –

Forrester Customer Experience Pyramid.

The Customer Experience Pyramid measures customer’s loyalty in a logical order from the baseline essentials to more sophisticated business metrics

Meets the need
Ease of use
Enjoyable Experience

Meets the Needs – Goal Completion

The first stage of the Customer Experience (CX) Pyramid covers the basics: How effective is a company in meeting their customer’s needs?

This stage goes hand to hand with the Customer Experience (CX) metric Goal Completion Rate (GCR) which asks the customer: Were you able to reach your goal?
Ask Question

Did you reach your goal today?

Yes
Partially
No

Ease of Use – Customer Effort Score

How easy was it for a customer to reach their goal and finish a certain task on the website? Customer Effort Score (CES) is an effective way of measuring it. The idea behind Customer Effort Score (CES) is that the organization create loyal customers when they find what they‘re looking for solving their issues quickly and easily.
Ask Question

How easy was it to do task X, Y, or Z?

Strong Disagree
Disagree
Somewhat Disagree
Somewhat Agree
Agree
Strong Agree

Enjoyable Experience – Emotional Score

You can use a client Satisfaction or Emotional rating question centered on however your users feel. Why?

A HubSpot Study found that over 80% of companies believe retention is cheaper than acquisition – keeping your customers happy pays off.
Ask Question

How enjoyable was it to buy from your platform?

Very Unsatisfied
Very Satisfied
Satisfied

Case Study –
How Amazon and Uber Rewrite Customer Experience (CX)

Amazon’s approach to Customer Experience (CX) was to start fresh and focus at the top of the Customer Experience pyramid.

Uber preferred Customer Experience (CX) of urban transportation, over the conventional way of measuring with existing taxi system’s customer complaints.
Conclusion –

In the future, brands will not succeed because they have Customer Experience (CX) programs.

They will succeed when Customer Experience (CX) is driven from the top, is integral to the culture of the company, which eventually guides the behavior, and the actions of all employees, most important needs of the customers for products and services are measured, and the satisfactory level as well.

If you want your customer to have a good time engaging with your services, you need to start improving all three pain points.

Design Differences between Android and IOS

As per the new trends, both these platforms are picking up habits of each other and following trend of both IOS and Android without any obligations. But still, there are some major differences which I am going to mention here.

Home Button

In IOS we have a home button in the bottom which is the only way out from the application, won’t say this is a drawback as it cuts the options off and leaves the user with only one option. So when designing for IOS we need to provide a back button in the design for user to get back to the previous screen. On the other hand, android has three buttons at the bottom (Back, Home and Overview) which give the user more freedom for navigation as compared to IOS.

Navigation bar

Android device has a universal navigation button at the bottom and we can easily go back to the previous screen by using the back button. But when we talk about iOS there is no universal back button or navigation button so there should have back navigation at the left top corner of every screen.

FAB

Floating action button is one of the main differences between Android and iOS which is used to show the most important and most common features of that particular screen. In Android, it can be placed anywhere on the screen. While talking about iOS it is called a Call to Action button which is placed at the right top corner.

Typography

iOS platform uses San Francisco while Android uses Robots typeface. In android more white space is used between texts. So we need to be more careful when doing typography in android and iOS.

Buttons

Buttons are the most basic element for user interface design. In the iOS app design, we take flat buttons means no or minimal shadow and no capital letter on the button. But in Android App design we give some depth to the buttons with capital letters on it.

Grids and Icons

Android and iOS both use the 8dp grid with a most common margin of 16px. In Android, we mostly use filled icons while in iOS we use line icons as per the present trend.

Conclusion

We can’t say which one is better “Android and iOS” because it depends upon the choice and need of the customer. Android and iOS both have different design principles which allow a designer to design the best user interface for customers. So as a designer first we should understand the need and requirement of a customer then design it accordingly. All these discussed points in this blog are proven by the experts who provide UI UX design services.
