      <title>The trillion-dollar AI hole: where is the revenue?</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;The massive infrastructure investments in AI data centers will not return back to investors anytime soon. In fact, we are looking at one of the biggest capital misallocations in tech history.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The math is brutal:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;The Capital Spend&lt;/strong&gt;: Tech hyperscalers (Microsoft, Alphabet, Meta, Amazon) are on track to spend over $700 Billion on AI capital expenditures.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;The Revenue Gap&lt;/strong&gt;: Analysts at Sequoia Capital point out a staggering $600 Billion annual revenue gap between what is being spent on AI infrastructure and what the actual software market is generating in sales.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Tech giants are building digital skyscrapers before knowing if anyone wants to rent the rooms.&lt;/p&gt;

  The Depreciation Trap
&lt;/h2&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The big lie of the current AI boom is hidden in corporate accounting. The massive clusters of Nvidia chips being bought today burn out, become obsolete, or require replacement every 3 to 5 years. Yet, companies are amortizing these data center costs over 9 to 10 years to make their current earnings look stable.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;When those multi-billion-dollar chip replacements come due without matching software revenues, the financial hit will be devastating.&lt;/p&gt;

  The user reality
&lt;/h2&gt;

&lt;p&gt;People love using AI chatbots, but they refuse to pay for them. Enterprise adoption has stalled at basic productivity tasks because replacing a human worker with an AI agent rarely delivers a predictable ROI.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This directly ties back to my previous post: the cloud infrastructure model is too expensive to sustain itself. The companies that survive the upcoming AI bubble burst will be those who successfully pivot away from multi-billion-dollar data centers and move toward efficient, localized Hybrid AI architectures on consumer hardware.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>The AI RAM crisis: did legacy tech just give up its seat to China?</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;True or not, the AI hype claimed its first casualties in 2025: &lt;strong&gt;consumer-grade RAM&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;To chase massive enterprise cloud margins, Western chip giants aggressively pivoted to producing High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) for data centers.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The result?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;70% of global memory output is now swallowed by data centers.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Standard &lt;strong&gt;32GB DDR5 kits literally doubled in price&lt;/strong&gt; in a matter of months.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;p&gt;But they forgot a golden rule of business: &lt;strong&gt;If you leave your seat in a crowded room, someone else will take it. In market time, that means forever.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;
Chinese companies didn’t just watch from the window. They took that seat with the ultimate performance-to-price ratio on consumer DDR5 and mobile LPDDR5. Simultaneously, Chinese open-source teams cracked open the Pandora’s box of highly optimized local LLMs, while CPU makers universally integrated neural processors (NPUs).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The architectural horizon is clear: &lt;strong&gt;Hybrid AI&lt;/strong&gt;. Applications will run locally up to the physical limit of consumer hardware, pinging the cloud only when brute force is needed.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;But local AI requires massive memory capacity. And that means consumer-grade RAM.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;By rushing to feed the cloud bubble, legacy chipmakers starved the hardware segment required for the next mass phase of consumer AI adoption.&lt;/p&gt;

      <description>&lt;p&gt;A friend was in the toilet, scrolling on his phone, when a message pops up very fast: ‘You have violated the rules of our community’. Panic! He suddenly calls me. He lives in a small village, he wasn’t doing something too bad in the toilet. “…I was born here, for 25 years I never deceived them, not even when the Nigerian prince offered me 10 million or the Siberian blond girl wanted to marry me. Which rules? Old Tom hasn’t said anything and Father John baptized me. Every Wednesday evening I play futsal with the same friends, same team even if they always put me in goal. On weekends I help at the soup kitchen or help elders with home repairs. I always take care of my community!”&lt;br&gt;
He took a moment to breathe and I finally had time to speak. “Mike! They banned you!”&lt;br&gt;
He suddenly answered: “Banned me?! My community? Where will I go now?”&lt;br&gt;
Me: “That’s from some social network. “&lt;br&gt;
Mike: “Do you mean that site where I have friends I never met and they write ‘good morning’ every day? Or where I can watch videos of people doing stupid stunts we weren’t allowed to do as kids, or people permanently on holiday, or the rope trick? Maybe the group of students posting their poo at school. Or maybe somebody got offended because I didn’t answer his good morning, so they decided I was ill-mannered and banned me. Or maybe when I started following a girl, but I wasn’t really following her, she reported me for stalking. Or maybe when I liked how someone made a cake, my aunt found out. Or the one star on that ugly cat. “&lt;br&gt;
Me: “Yes, Mike, that’s what we call a social network. We need to follow the rules to keep it safe.”&lt;br&gt;
Mike: “Phew! I’m glad! But what community needs to be safe, if nobody knows each other?”&lt;br&gt;
Me: “The community exists. They tell stories of users who reach the highest number of friends, collect the exact number of likes, a pinch of stars and a bunch of followers, and cast the spell. Only these are allowed to enter the community, a place where bits grow freely on silicon trees and rivers of bytes flow from one group to another. There you can find the supreme admin, who from his throne created bots to ban those who don’t deserve a place in our community.”&lt;br&gt;
Mike: “I’ll appeal to Father John, he’s the best on divine matters.”&lt;br&gt;
Me: “Don’t! There is a form, bots only read it and always return the same answer: ‘You have violated the rules of our community’”&lt;/p&gt;

      <description>&lt;p&gt;The irony of modern times: forgetting the fundamental scope of the technologies we build on.&lt;br&gt;
The Internet Protocol (IP) was originally designed by pioneers to be inherently decentralized and war-resistant. Its core engineering purpose was to dynamically reroute packets around damage to survive massive, distributed physical attacks.&lt;br&gt;
But modern cloud computing has created the exact opposite.Instead of true decentralization, we have hyper-centralized our global infrastructure into massive, localized data center clusters. ⁠AWS divides coverage by distinct geographic regions, guaranteeing high availability through exactly three Availability Zones (AZs).Look at what happened to the AWS UAE region (me-central-1). Two of the three Availability Zones were significantly impaired simultaneously due to sudden physical infrastructure impacts. The remaining third zone was instantly strained to its limits from the massive traffic overflow trying to failover.When multi-AZ setups fail because the physical world cuts through our logical abstractions, we have to ask ourselves: Have we built a network that is less resilient than the legacy protocol it runs on? &lt;br&gt;
We traded a distributed web of independent nodes for a handful of digital fortresses. And when a fortress shakes, the whole region goes dark.&lt;/p&gt;
