      <title>Understanding Map in JavaScript (The Underestimated Data Structure)</title>

&lt;p&gt;In simple terms:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Intuition says “hash maps are O(1), right?” &lt;em&gt;Usually&lt;/em&gt;, yes—but the complete answer should include both best and worst cases:&lt;/p&gt;
