🚀 Why I built another QR code generator

QR codes are one of those small pieces of technology that we see almost everywhere.

You scan one to open a website, connect to Wi-Fi, send contact information, join a service, or share something with someone.

I wanted to build a QR Code Generator that keeps that process simple.

So I added one to my web project, GhostStyle.

👻 What is GhostStyle?

GhostStyle started as a collection of tools for people who want to customize their online identity.

It includes tools for stylish text, gaming names, usernames, bios, symbols, invisible text, and more.

But I didn't want it to stop there.

I wanted GhostStyle to gradually become a useful collection of everyday online tools, which led me to build the QR Code Generator.

📱 What can you create?

The QR generator supports several different types of information:

🌐 URL — Turn a website link into a scannable QR code.

📝 Text — Share a message or any other plain text.

📶 Wi-Fi — Create a QR code containing Wi-Fi connection details.

📧 Email — Make it easier for someone to start an email.

📞 Phone — Share a phone number through a QR code.

💬 SMS — Create a QR code that can be used to send a text message.

🟢 WhatsApp — Create a QR code for sharing a WhatsApp contact or conversation link.

The idea is to choose what you want to share, enter the information, generate the code, and you're ready to go.

I designed the generator with mobile users in mind because QR codes are often created, shared, and scanned using phones.

I also wanted the interface to feel straightforward rather than overwhelming users with unnecessary options.

🔍 A small project, but a useful one

One thing I've learned while building GhostStyle is that a useful web tool doesn't always need to be complicated.

Sometimes the best experience is simply:

That's the approach I wanted for the QR Code Generator.
