Can Plagiarism Checkers Detect ChatGPT? We Tested It Across 5 Tools.

There's a common assumption that if your content passes a plagiarism checker, you're in the clear. That's no longer true.
We tested ChatGPT output against five major detection tools and found a massive gap between two types of detection:
Traditional plagiarism checks scored AI-written essays at 0-4% similarity. No flags. No matches. Clean pass every time.
But AI detection, now built into those same tools, caught ChatGPT output above 90% of the time.
So we went deeper. We took ChatGPT output and ran five versions through every checker:
→ Raw ChatGPT output

→ Manually edited versions

→ QuillBot-paraphrased

→ PlagiarismRemover.AI-rewritten

→ Combined methods
The results were consistent. Manual editing didn't help. QuillBot didn't help. Only one method cleared both plagiarism and AI detection.
If you use AI in your content workflow, documentation, blog posts, or any form of writing, understanding how these tools work is worth your time.

AI tools speed up writing, but originality issues often appear right before publishing. Repetitive phrasing and similarity flags can slow reviews or block submissions.

A reliable Plagiarism Remover helps clean up AI-assisted text while preserving meaning and formatting.

PlagiarismRemover.AI fits naturally into this step of the workflow for writers, students, and teams using AI to draft content.
