Full disclosure up front: I'm the person behind <a href="https://planomatti.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">planomatti</a>, so this is a bit of a #showdev post.</p> <h2> How it started </h2> <p>In Switzerland, ICT apprentices finish their apprenticeship with the <strong>IPA</strong>, a practical final project that runs over several days. You have to plan everything in advance, track it every day and compare your plan with what actually happened.</p> <p>I didn't find a tool I liked for that. Most planning tools were either too big, too expensive or only did one thing well. So I built a small local app for my own IPA: a Gantt chart with a planned vs. actual comparison, plus a Kanban board for the daily tasks.</p> <p>It worked better than I expected. After I finished, I kept working on it and in October 2026 I put it online as planomatti.</p> <h2> What it does </h2> <ul> <li> <strong>Gantt, Scrum and Kanban in one app</strong>, so you don't need three tools for one project</li> <li> <strong>Workspaces</strong> you can share by invite, with push notifications</li> <li> <strong>Templates</strong> for an IPA and for Scrum to get started fast</li> <li> <strong>Four languages</strong>: German, English, French and Italian</li> <li><strong>Hosted in Switzerland</strong></li> <li> <strong>Free.</strong> No subscription, and that's not going to change</li> </ul> <p>It works as a web app and as a PWA, so you can install it on your phone too.</p> <h2> Who it's for </h2> <p>Mainly apprentices, vocational schools and small teams or clubs who want to plan a project properly without a big enterprise tool. If you plan a side project or a small team sprint, it should work for you as well.</p> <h2> Under the hood </h2> <p>It started on Supabase and Vercel. This month I moved everything to a classic PHP and MySQL setup on Swiss hosting. Not the trendiest stack, but it's simple, cheap and I understand every part of it.
