Fridge-Sloth-AI 🦥 - Slow AI that saves your fridge

This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge - Week 3: Slow and Steady

 What I Built

Fridge-Sloth-AI - Fridge ka photo lo, grocery list mil jayegi! 🦥

A lazy sloth AI that checks your fridge photo offline with Ollama Llava. It tells you:

What is inside your fridge

What is expiring or missing

Final grocery list in Hindi + English

This saves effort of manually checking fridge daily. Housewives, bachelors, anyone who hates grocery planning gets to be a little lazier!

I built 2 apps in one repo:

Web App (Streamlit) - Upload photo, get list

CLI App - For terminal lovers

 Demo

Repo: https://github.com/Poorva516/Fridge-Sloth-AI

Local Demo:

ollama run llava

pip install -r requirements.txt

streamlit run app.py

Then upload your fridge photo!

 Code

My code is here: https://github.com/Poorva516/Fridge-Sloth-AI

Tech:
app.py
(Streamlit + Ollama),
requirements.txt
,
fridge.jpg

 Why Open Innovation with Ollama?

Privacy: Fridge photo is personal, it never goes to cloud - stays on my laptop.
Offline: Works in kitchen without internet. True Slow and Steady AI.
Free & Fun: No API cost. I added Sloth persona for Hacktoberfest Week 3 theme - slow, lazy, but helpful!

Ollama made it possible to run Llava locally - Open Innovation at its best!

This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 2: Side Hustle

I built an Accounts & Budget AI App for Hacktoberfest 2026!

 💡 What is my project?

A simple and powerful Budget Tracker that helps you:

Add daily expenses

View accounts with beautiful charts

Plan monthly budgets

Get AI-powered financial advice using Gemma 3

 🛠️ How I built it

Frontend: Streamlit

Backend: Python, Pandas

AI: Google Gemma 3 for smart insights

Hosting: GitHub

 🔗 Links

GitHub Repo: https://github.com/Poorva516/Accounts_budget_ai

Try locally:
pip install -r requirements.txt
streamlit run accounts_budget.py/accounts_budget.py

 ❤️ My Hacktoberfest Journey

This was my first time uploading code directly via GitHub UI without git commands. I learned how to create a repo, upload files, and add a README for open source. Super excited to be part of Hacktoberfest 2026!

I Build an Offline Garden Helper So My Mom Can Touch Grass

This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 1: Touch Grass

 What I Built

I built an offline garden helper for my mom in Bhopal. She always asks what to plant in October.

Most apps need internet, but on our terrace there is no signal. So I made a simple Python app that works without internet.

My app has 6 steps:

Checks month (October)

Tells what to plant (Coriander, Spinach, Tomato, Radish)

Calculates how many plants fit in 20 sq ft

Water reminder

Sunlight check

Counts your steps - Achievement: Touched Grass!

It gets people off screen because you have to go outside to water, check sun, and walk. It is for beginners and moms who love plants.

Why open source is better than closed API? Closed Weather API needs internet + money and fails in a farm. My open code works offline, free, data stays at home. I can edit it for Indore/Bhopal easily.

 Demo

I tested it yesterday. Walked 800 steps and watered coriander on terrace.

To run:

My code is very simple - only if and print, no imports, no API. Works offline.

GitHub Repo:
https://github.com/Poorva516/Bhopal-Garden-helper-Repository1
