Hey my friends,

As you probably know, Cursor is a trending AI-powered IDE that a lot of developers love. But let’s be honest — it’s pretty expensive, especially if you're outside the US. 😅

There are tons of GitHub repositories and tools out there claiming to crack or bypass Cursor's trial. Some work temporarily, others don’t. And a few are honestly scary to even run — sketchy scripts, outdated methods, and all that. Most of them only work on specific versions, too.

Well, guess what? I found a method that actually works — and I’m running it on the latest version of Cursor!

Let me walk you through the story and the steps.

The Problem
So, like many of you, I tried the classic trick:

Trial ends

Log out

Make a new account

Log back in

Sometimes it works… for a few hours. But then Cursor kicks you back to the free tier, like: “Nice try, buddy.” 😂

They clearly have some background checks going on — probably device fingerprinting, machine IDs, MAC addresses, IP tracking, or all of the above.

My Experience
This started when I was using Linux, but had to switch back to Windows (college life, you know the struggle). After the switch, I installed Cursor, made a new account — boom, trial activated! But once again, after a while, it detected something and locked me back out.

I tried everything:

Clearing AppData

Deleting registry entries

Making a new Windows user

Still no luck. Same error. Same free-tier fallback.

That’s when I thought: “Wait, what if they're tracking my MAC address, IP, or something similar?” And that’s where things got interesting.

My Working Bypass Method (Educational Purposes Only ⚠️)
Let me be clear — this post is for educational purposes only. I’m documenting this as a proof-of-concept to explore Cursor’s trial system and how it might be bypassed. Use responsibly.

Tools You'll Need
Temporary Email

Use TempMail or a browser extension.

MAC Address Changer

I recommend LizardSystems MAC Address Changer — clean and simple.

You can also write your own Python script if you don’t trust third-party apps.

VPN or IP Spoofing Tool

I use Urban VPN, but any VPN that changes your IP will do.

Steps to Bypass Cursor Trial
Log out of Cursor completely.

Change your MAC address using the tool or your script.

Turn on your VPN to get a fresh IP.

Generate a new email using TempMail.

Register a new Cursor account.

Done! Enjoy the full trial again, no need to clear app data or mess with Cursor’s files.

You can disable the VPN and MAC tools after registration — they’re only needed to get past the initial checks.

Final Words
Once again, this is just an educational write-up. I wanted to explore how Cursor tracks users and whether their trial system is truly secure. The point isn’t to encourage abuse, but to raise awareness and maybe get the devs thinking about better protection.

Hope you found this interesting! Until the next hack — see yaaa! 👋😎
