Introduction & What I Built

Welcome to Hacktoberfest 2026 Week 2! For this week's side hustle challenge, I built an AI Product Description & SEO Generator using Python, Streamlit, and Google's Gemini API.

Writing catchy product titles, persuasive descriptions, and finding high-ranking SEO tags can be a huge bottleneck for online sellers. This tool automates that entirely by taking a few key product features and instantly producing a ready-to-use e-commerce listing.

Who Would Pay For It? (Target Audience & Monetization)

The primary users who would pay for or benefit from a tool like this include:

E-commerce & Dropshipping Sellers (Daraz, Shopify, Etsy, Amazon): Store owners managing hundreds of products who need fast, optimized copywriting without hiring an expensive copywriter.

Small Business Owners & Social Media Sellers: People running Instagram or Facebook shops who struggle with marketing content and SEO tags.

Freelance Content Creators: Virtual assistants who manage online stores for multiple clients and want to speed up their workflow.

Why Open Innovation Matters for This Project

Open-source and open-innovation models play a critical role here because:

Accessibility & Customization: By utilizing open-source libraries (like Streamlit) and accessible AI models, developers worldwide can spin up custom, low-cost micro-SaaS tools tailored to local markets (like local e-commerce platforms in South Asia).

Community-Driven Growth: Open sharing allows other developers to integrate multi-language support, support for local currencies, or fine-tune open-weight models specifically for niche retail sectors.

 Demo & How It Works

Enter the Product Name and key features in the clean Streamlit UI.

Select your target selling platform (Etsy, Shopify, Daraz/eBay, etc.).

Click Generate, and the AI instantly provides an optimized title, description, and comma-separated SEO tags!

GitHub - https://github.com/Prabhashasachinthana/ai-product-generator
https://ai-appuct-generator.streamlit.app/

First User Feedback / Next Steps

I tested this prototype with a local online seller friend who lists items on social media, and their feedback was amazing—it cut down their product listing time from 10 minutes per item to under 30 seconds!

Moving forward, I plan to add direct image upload support so the AI can analyze a product photo directly.

Happy Hacktoberfest 2026! Let's keep building! 🚀
