The latest articles on DEV Community by program52 (@program52). https://dev.to/program52 https://media2.dev.to/dynamic/image/width=90,height=90,fit=cover,gravity=auto,format=auto/https:%2F%2Fdev-to-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fuploads%2Fuser%2Fprofile_image%2F3676153%2F799f9e7e-5c24-44c4-8509-b96b641a65f7.jpg https://dev.to/program52 en program52 Sat, 27 Dec 2025 04:27:42 +0000 https://dev.to/program52/a-coding-challenge-a-week-can-you-complete-all-52-1ikh https://dev.to/program52/a-coding-challenge-a-week-can-you-complete-all-52-1ikh <p>With the new year approaching, a new opportunity awaits - from <strong>January 1st</strong>, <a href="https://program52.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">program52</a> will start posting a different coding challenge <em>every week</em></p> <p>The challenges aim to be both fun and educational, primarily aimed at <strong>students</strong>/<strong>beginner</strong>/<strong>intermediate devs</strong> (though those with more experience should hopefully find the challenges engaging too) and will focus on a wide-range of topics including:</p> <ul> <li>science</li> <li>language</li> <li>maths</li> <li>security</li> <li>encryption</li> <li>encoding</li> <li>hashing</li> <li>graphics</li> <li>audio</li> <li>video</li> <li>games</li> <li>digital forensics</li> <li>geography</li> <li>astronomy</li> <li>pop culture ...and much more!</li> </ul> <p>It is possible to both play for fun, or, if you want, to check your progress on the global, national or even private leaderboards that you can create for your friends, school, workplace etc</p> <p>Since there is a challenge every week, people will be playing from all timezones, then anyone who completes the challenge within the <strong>first 3 days (72 hours)</strong> will be awarded the maximum points of *<em>5000 *</em>- for each subsequent day, the number of points will decrease by 500, stopping at a lower limit of 2500 - <em>meaning that whenever you complete the challenge, you can still move up the leaderboard</em></p> <p>Answers will simply be data - strings, numbers, multimedia (images/sound/video) etc, so the challenges can be completed in any programming language that you run locally</p> <p>You will also be able to submit your syntax-highlighted solution for others to look at in 100s of different programming languages, or a custom language of your choice if your language isn't listed</p> <p>If you are interested in signing up, we'd love to see you <a href="https://program52.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">there</a> - creating a community of worldwide developers looking to improve their skills, while having fun doing so!</p> beginners coding learning challenge
