Why I Built MoreThanACalculators.com

Like many people, I got tired of searching for a simple calculator and ending up on websites filled with aggressive ads, confusing layouts, and tools that felt outdated.

A calculator should be simple.

You open it, enter your numbers, get your answer, and move on.

Instead, many calculator websites make even basic tasks frustrating. Too much clutter, too many distractions, and often calculators that barely work well on mobile devices.

That frustration became the reason I started building MoreThanACalculators.com.

The Idea

I wanted to create a place where calculators are actually useful.

Not just basic math tools, but practical calculators people need in real life:

Finance calculators
Health and fitness calculators
Business and productivity tools
Everyday problem-solving calculators
Specialized niche calculators most websites ignore

The goal is simple: speed, clarity, and usefulness.

What Makes It Different

I focus on three things:

Clean Experience

No unnecessary distractions. Users should find the calculator, use it, and leave with their answer fast.

Better SEO Through Intent

Instead of chasing random traffic, I focus on calculators people are actively searching for with real intent.

A good calculator solves a problem, not just ranks for a keyword.

Continuous Expansion

There are thousands of useful calculators people need.

This is not a “launch and forget” project—it’s a growing platform built for the long term.

Lessons So Far

Building this taught me something important:

Small tools can create huge value.

You do not always need a massive SaaS product. Sometimes solving one specific problem better than everyone else is enough.

Simple wins.

What’s Next

I’m continuing to expand the platform, improve user experience, and test new ways to make calculators genuinely helpful.

Still early. Still building.

But that’s the exciting part.

If you’re building in public too, I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
