Windows has seventeen cursor roles. Every pack I tried showed me one arrow.

Changing the mouse cursor on Windows is a small thing that is annoyingly opaque: a pack gives you a folder of .cur and .ani files, the Settings page shows one preview at a time, and you find out what the "text select" or "precision select" cursor looks like after you have already applied the scheme.

So I drew all seventeen roles from the real files, side by side, before anything is applied.

Seventeen open-source schemes come with it (Bibata, macOS, XCursor Pro, GoogleDot, Windows Modern, Material Design, Qogir), and a pack you downloaded is imported by dropping its .zip on the window. One button puts the Windows defaults back.

One 144 KB file, no installer, no admin rights, no telemetry, MIT licensed.

File Labs 1.0.14 is out

The accent colour was drawn at low alpha over an already translucent window, so it washed out twice and a selected row read as grey. The tints are stronger now. Selected rows, the marquee and the active pane's edge are noticeably more blue. Settings > Appearance has a Strength slider (30-250%) so the accent can be tuned without a new build. The coloured file-kind glyph went from 50% to 90% opacity.

Zooming is smooth on big folders. The icon and list views used to build every item — C:\Windows\System32 (5 001 files) in XL icons froze the window. They now build only what is on screen. A wheel spin applies once instead of once per notch, and switching view rebuilds the list a single time. Thumbnails are no longer re-fetched at a new size for every zoom step.

Folders are cached, so switching tabs or going back to a folder is instant: an unchanged folder is not re-read at all and keeps its scroll position, icons and sizes. Icons, thumbnails and sync badges are cached too, and the folders you are likely to open next (other tabs, subfolders, the sidebar's) are read in the background. Smoother scrolling: pixel scrolling instead of jumping a row at a time. Motion: short fades when a folder is read, when panes change, in Quick View, and a transfer card sliding in. Can be switched off in Settings. Settings → Appearance: accent colour (8 colours or any #RRGGBB), row height (Compact / Normal / Roomy), animations on or off. Updates: checked every 10 minutes, plus a Check for updates button in the sidebar. Fixed the white selection block in the Folders tree, and the status bar losing its message every 10 seconds.

Sorting in every view: a Sort button in the pane footer and a Sort by submenu in the right-click menu, so the icon and list views can be sorted too. Sorting by Version now works. Drive space keeps up: the sidebar and the figures at the top refresh every 10 seconds and right after a copy, move or delete — no restart needed. Right-click keeps the selection: clicking a file name with several items selected no longer drops them. Properties of several items opens Windows' combined dialog (total size, counts).

Lume 0.1.5 is out

An icon fix, and a small one. Apps with modern icons no longer show a blank program glyph. Icons made by electron-builder and most current icon generators store every size as PNG. Explorer draws them fine, but the shell call Lume relied on doesn't, and fell back to the generic window glyph. Lume now reads the icon straight out of the
.exe
, at up to 256px, and only asks the shell when that fails. Lume's own icon was one of those affected. Shortcuts that name their own icon now use it. Chrome web apps (ChatGPT, Gemini…), script launchers such as EmuDeck's, and GOG games all point at a host program. Until now they showed that program's icon — Chrome, PowerShell, the game exe — instead of the
.ico
the shortcut asks for. The old icon cache is thrown away on first start and the app index rebuilds itself, so nothing needs doing after the update. | File | Use it if | | --- | --- | |
Lume-0.1.5-x64.exe
| You want it installed, with automatic updates. | |
Lume-0.1.5-portable.exe
| You want to run it without installing. |
latest.yml
is what installed copies read to find this release; you do not download it yourself. Not code-signed, so SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", with the run button behind More info → Run anyway. That reacts to the missing signature, not to anything in the app.
npm install && npm run package
reproduces these files from source.

Lume-0.1.5-x64.exe 43b272f3106dfafe6741650f963e61d544a6aaf3662d9874330ff520deddea36 Lume-0.1.5-portable.exe 4f51b65acae92cee2798ce56977c8c33b6b2c8b5a1eb9ea8b6a6ddcd6c53683b

powershell Get-FileHash .\Lume-0.1.5-x64.exe -Algorithm SHA256

Windows 11 x64. The frosted-glass backdrop needs 22H2 or newer.

Double-clicking a folder opens it again, and double-clicking a program or file launches it (broken in 1.0.8; Enter still worked).

SteamRadar 0.4.1 is out

Textul „Free for another a moment” (ultima jumătate de oră) e acum „Free for another moment”.

Tabs have the browser shape — rounded top corners flaring outwards at the bottom, like FilePilot's. The active tab still shows the panel's own surface, whatever opacity you set.

Tabs can be dragged. Drag a tab to reorder it, or drop it on the other panel's tab bar to move it there. A line shows where it will land. Tabs survive a restart. The open tabs of both panels, and which one was active, are remembered, so File Labs reopens in the folder you left it in. Switching tabs is instant — from about 1.2 seconds to under 20 ms. Folders you've visited are kept in memory and painted immediately while being re-read in the background, and the list no longer scrolls itself into place when there's nothing to scroll to. Sidebar and tab icons are fetched in the background, which alone could take most of a second on a network drive.

Auto Clicker 1.0.4 is out

Fixes Capture storing a button in its hover look, which then never matched the button on screen. Fixed: the image is now cut from a photo of the screen taken before the picker appears, when the mouse is not on the button. Before, it was grabbed live after the picker closed, with the cursor resting on the button; a button that lights up on hover (for example a black button that turns solid green) was stored lit up, and Wait for image / If image never found it in its normal look. Pick point & colour reads its colour from the same photo. Fixed: after a click on On the last image found, the cursor goes back to where it was. Left on the button, it would light the button up again and the next Wait for image would miss it. Changed: when an image is not found, the message says how close it got:
target-123.png never appeared (closest match 67%, needs 85%)
. An image file that cannot be read says
Can't read ...
. Images captured with 1.0.3 or earlier may be in their hover look. If a wait says "never appeared" while the button is on screen, capture it again with this version. Replace the
.exe
; profiles and saved sequences are kept.
