Do you like to write some useful content, but don't know where to start or what to write?

Here I come with a solution for this.

Solution is nothing but start writing. Do you think this is a joke, never , i tell this from my experience.

I just started to write some blogs by copying other blogs, That's not bad for getting started.

Now I am able to write blogs by myself.

This is a Command Line Interface (CLI) created using python. Using this you can create all necessary files for writing your assignment report.

I created this because, i am not getting ready with latex to create PDF, so i think of an alternative. What about creating PDF from our favourite markdown language!!

Actually inspired from my friend's Project kickass, Which is a one step c assignment maker!!

Pre-requisites

VScode should be installed
You have to install an extension in VScode -> Markdown PDF
install Markdown All in One extension also.

Installation

open a terminal window and type:

pip install fire
git clone https://github.com/rawho/assBOT.git
cd assBOT

Usage

python assbot.py create hello

This Will create a folder hello for you, Lets take a look at the folder

hello
|--cet-logo.jpeg
|--demo.png
|--hello.md

In the hello.md file you can see a template will be created, There you can change the name, heading, etc..

demo.png and cet-logo.jpeg are the images used, you can add new images to this folder and add it in the markdown file

Convert to PDF

Open the hello.md file in VScode
ctl + shift + p and search export, then select Markdown PDF: Export (pdf)

Then Wait for few seconds and you can see a new pdf file is created in the same folder.

Few Tips

Probably if you follow above steps, You will get a pdf file, Inside it you can see that the code snippets is not highlighted, inorder to enable it, you can change the settings of the extension Markdown PDF

for that press ctl + , it will open the settings.

from there go to extensions and markdown pdf, scroll down and change the highlight style. There is a dropdown. You can select any one from it. My suggestion is a11y-dark.css
for converting to pdf instead of searching, you can just right-click, there you can see the option to export

Prerequisites

Ruby version 2.5.0 or higher, including all development headers (check your Ruby version using ruby -v)
RubyGems (check your Gems version using gem -v)
GCC and Make (check versions using gcc -v, g++ -v, and make -v)

If you don't have this then install it, Its easy!!

If the above mentioned requirements are satisfied, Now you are ready to install jekyll !!

Install Jekyll

gem install jekyll bundler

Once it is installed successfully you are ready to test my portfolio locally and make changes

Instructions

git clone https://github.com/rawho/portfolio-jekyll.git
once it is cloned move in to the correct directory by cd portfolio-jekyll
Then lets install all the bundles by bundle install
This sometimes shows some error, then you have to do bundle update
once it is done, you can type bundle exec jekyll serve
This will create a server at port 4000, You can visit http://localhost:4000, there you can see the website.

All backgrounds and skill levels are encouraged to complete the challenge.

Hacktoberfest is a celebration open to everyone in our global community.
Pull requests can be made in any GitHub-hosted repositories/projects.
You can sign up anytime between October 1 and October 31.

What you will get?? 🤔

You can either choose a T-shirt or plant a tree

what you want to do?? 🤔

You want to just register to the event and try to create 5 Pull Request. This is all enough

If you have this you are ready to start. If you don't have this just go and download git and create a github account

How to register

Inorder to register go to website and click start hacking

I am new to programming, I don't know to write even Hello world in any programming language

If you belong to this, Nothing to worry at all!!
Because the projects hosted in github is not only programming. There are lot of books, designs etc. Choose anything you think you can contribute(no need to be an expert in that topic)

How to draw flowChart(diagrams) in markdown using Mermaid!!

Prerequisites

VS Code
Install the following extensions in VS Code
1. Markdown Preview Enhanced
2. Markdown Preview Meramid Support
3. Meramid Markdown Syntax Highlighting (optional)

Getting Started

Create a file with markdown extension (abc.md)
Then copy this code and paste it there

graph TD;
    A-->B;
    A-->C;
    B-->D;
    C-->D;

Open the file in VS Code and right click and select Markdown Preview Enhanced. Then you can see this diagram there

Render Mermaid diagram in Webpage

For this you have to use two script tags, they are :

<script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/mermaid/dist/mermaid.min.js"></script>

<script>mermaid.initialize({theme: 'dark', startOnLoad:true});</script>

For light theme you can replace that theme to light

Then you can write the mermaid diagram code inside div with class mermaid

GitHub CLI

gh is GitHub on the command line. It brings pull requests, issues, and other GitHub concepts to the terminal next to where you are already working with git and your code.

Installation

macOS

gh is available via Homebrew and MacPorts.
