Connect MyCVBuilders MCP to Claude: Build and Manage Resumes with AI

If you've built your resume on MyCVBuilders, imagine being able to just ask an AI assistant to pull up your latest draft, tailor it for a specific job posting, or check which version you sent to which company — without copying and pasting anything. That's what connecting MyCVBuilders to Claude makes possible.

This guide walks through what that connection actually is, how it works under the hood, and how you'll use it — written for both the "I just want my resume to work" reader and the "show me how the plumbing works" reader.

Once MyCVBuilders MCP is connected, you can ask Claude things like:

Pull up my most recent resume and tighten the summary section.
Compare my resume against this job description and tell me what's missing.
Create a new tailored version for this listing, based on my base resume.

Here's how to set it up.

Step 1: Open Claude Settings

Open Claude (claude.ai or the desktop/mobile app).
Click your profile picture or name.
Open Settings.
Go to the Connectors tab.

Step 2: Add the MyCVBuilders Connector

In the Connectors tab, click Add custom connector (usually at the bottom of the list).
Name it MyCVBuilders.
Paste the following URL into the Connector URL field:

https://api.mycvbuilders.com/api/v1/mcp

Click Add.

Step 3: Sign In to MyCVBuilders

Once added, click Connect next to the MyCVBuilders connector.

You'll be redirected to the MyCVBuilders login page.
Enter your MyCVBuilders account credentials.
Approve the connection request.
You'll be returned to Claude automatically.

This is a one-time login that securely links your MyCVBuilders account to Claude.

Step 4: Start Using MyCVBuilders in Claude

Open a new Claude conversation. If the connector is enabled, Claude will automatically use it when relevant — or you can turn it on for the chat via the tools/connectors menu (the slider icon below the chat box) and select MyCVBuilders.
